Hey guys I have this problem. While I was driving today the check engine light came on so i decided to take it to autozone so they could tell me with their computer why the light was on, so they plugged the computer to the car and it showed that it was running lean so the guy tells me that it might be an O2 sensor so I start my car again and now the CEL is off and is not coming on again. I have an aem cai and last week I installed the tanabe exhaust do you think that might be the problem I have 2 months with the intake and never had that light on so now I don't know if i need to replace the O2 sensors. in case i have to replace the O2 sensor can somebody tell me where they are located, how many there are and about how much they cost? confused

hey my CEL came on last night too. the only problem is that mine stayed on today also. i had to have my o2 sensor replaced like 3 months after i got the car. there is also a funky smell coming from the car i noticed the other day while i was at the mc d's drive thru. the only engine mod i have is an injen cai. i doubt it's my intake but i'll put the stock one back on just and try it out before i head to my dealer.

Toyotas' are known for their sensitive O2 sensors. Have you put any fuel additives with your fuel lately? If you have, It will go away eventually. I experienced the same thing when I did that. It leaves a coating on the oxygen sensor which burns off eventually.

Check your filter on your CAI, that was a cause once for my CEL. Cleaned filter and no more CEL.
