Yeah, a cold air intake will actually gain power. The TRD filter might gain 0.4 horsepower.

I mean maybe your right but I just dont see it gaining that much horsepower. Dynos vary a lot and I cant see it reading that accurately.

CAI is the way to go. HP gains and the intake roar! The GTS in lift with a CAI sounds pretty damn good. If you live in a really wet place with lots of puddles and standing water, you might consider a short ram intake to eliminate hydrolock. SRI sounds good and more HP than a drop in filter, but not as much as a CAI.

Don't bother getting the TRD drop in filter, NO GAINS what so ever!!! I sold it after a week I bought it. A month later I bought my Injen CAI and all I could say is..WOW!!! Way better performance and sound!!! worth every penny!

i have a trd drop in and am prettty happy with it.. it dont make it feel a shitload more powerful, but it seemed a tit pepperier. also made my engine sound a bit loader and meaner... nothing like a cai, but if you dont want a cai, then its pretty cool.

No way the drop in filter give you almost 22 whp I assume that the 22 is a typo and you meant 2. It would only gain that much horsepower if the old filter was really dirty.

i have the trd drop in filter and my stock intake box is drilled to hell and i also have a custom funnel pipe that brings cold air from underneath the bumper right to the drilled holes, so basically i built my stock intake up to a cai.. i was debating on if i should jus ditch my custom intake and jus get an aftermarket one..what do ya'll think?

I purchased the TRD filter a year ago but then realized too late that they are not even remotely comparable to a cai... after installing my AEM intake, I was pleased with my decision and promptly sold the filter -
