Anyone on here with a Stafford kit, have you had problems with the split second ECU? Because my mechanic has been calling around about it and it seems that every shop he talks to swears against it. Can anyone give me positive feedback about it because he isent wanting to install it.

uh I know a few cars running it with no problems. it's a very simple module to tune even. much more so then the power fc.

ask him how people have had bad experiences with a celica? my guess is not a single person he's talked to have ever actually seen one on a celica lol

tell him shut up, install it and get over it. if not tell him you'll go somewhere else who'll gladly accept your money. thumbsup

does it control ignition timing? I think I remember talking to them at SEMA 2003 and I think they said no, only fuel.

so if one must go piggyback, it sounds like the e-manage is better.

Illusive said it works. C2Gas uses it on his turbo GT. I know people are using it N/A on the other celica site.

there's also a thread by Kim on his e-manage install and use, a little ways down on this page. sure he's using it N/A, but I foresee no problems with a turbo esp. since that is the e-manage's specialty with the GReddy profec e-01 electronic boost controller (and a ton of other features).

The split second works perfectly fine. I have it on my car and havent had a single problem. It doesnt control timing, only fuel. I don't know why he would say it wouldnt work. Obviously theres better options out there, but that doesnt mean the split second doesnt work. If it didnt work, why would Stafford use it on all his kits, and how would everyone be driving around with it.

split second makes another unit to controll timing and a/f they sell as one unit now where as before it was 2 different units.

I forgot the specific name for it. its more expensive and you can opt for it when you buy the s/f kit.
