Calipers aren'yt rusty, they just have a lot of dust and dirt on them, maybe tthey are. THe rotors are made of iron, so they'll hold, but the rust is unstoppable.

Maybe you would like to get a new brake set?

yeah if you don't drive for half a day your rotors will rust your pads will grind off the rust in a matter of minutes of driving around and breaking though. if you don't want them to rust at all get some performance rotors with zinc coating it won't rust. you can get them very cheap on ebay.(brembo drilled rotors all 4 wheels zinc coated 240)

What happens when you paint the rotors? Would it chip off fast?

It would dampen the breaks and wear off extremely fast because of the temperature endured by rotors

get your rotors machined. a shop (pepboys - about $13) use a machine where it utilizes a diamond to cut a small fraction of the rotor surface. in doing so, it is clean of rust and is renewed like from the factory. thumbsup
