hey guys. so i fixed my belt tensioner bout 9 months ago and it is starting to go bad again. the annoying sqealing sound is appearing on the rainy days. but i basically have to wait bout 3 months when it is winter so i can bring it to the dealership and i know for sure that the squealing will be apparent. my dealership won't fix s**t if the problem does not occur when it is in their possesion. so have any of you guys' belt tensioners gone bad?

Mine went bad 5 months after I had it. Went away after awhile. If you have warranty it should be covered. I just let it be and squeak the hell out if itself until the problem solved.

I had mine fixed around 3 months ago. I used to hear the noise when I first started the car during winter, but then it went away. But after a really long time it started happening all the time, it was so annoying. I brough it in and had it fixed, no questions asked. And if your dealership doesn't fix it, why don't you try another dealership?

yeah, the dealerships around here in tampa are usually good at saying to me that they can't duplicate the problem... and by the time they are able to duplicate the problem, that particular problem got worse or created another problem. it took me a month telling them that my tranny is messed up. they kept saying that they can't duplicate the problem. well, by the time they found of that there was a problem they just ended up changing a new one bc it leaked from the hull (obvious problem now). it bugs the crap out of me because i still don't think that it is a new one. smile
