In all honesty, why would you spend your money on that? Why not just take the car to the track and get the real numbers?

In all honesty, you can use this product to test the performance difference if say, you get more mods. You don't have to wait till the next track event. You could jus test your car right then and there. Also, this product does measure lateral G's and records many things. It is a great product!

I think Bel and one other brand that usually makes detectors also makes a G-meter. Not sure of the price but worth comparing.

Problem is g-techs will always be optimistic since there is no way it can compensate for squat (in acceleration), dive (in braking) or roll (cornering). It is a very consistent device though so you can make fairly accurate comparative tests (to check if mods work) as long as you use the same car and test it in the same road.

PS: It would be more accurate to test the car using engine sound frequency provided you know the specs fully. I have a friend who has made a free downloadable program that can give you hp and torque graphs using wav recordings of your car. You will be surprised how accurate it is when you compare the readouts from actual dyno tests. I have attached the zip file here.

Now if i completely understood that program, and knew the specs for the celica gt i would be good to go! looks like an awesome program though.

Just get a recording of your car (with the mic on the passenger seat) and run the car through all the gears from idle to the limiter. Drag and drop the wav file into the RPM analyzer window and click analyze audio. A graph will appear. Select the gear you were in and plot through the graph that appears (using a minimal number of points for best results). Click on power graph to get the results. To edit the spec of your car into the program open the .ini file with your windows notepad and just follow the format of the other car's data.
