Is it good or not for a first mod? I'm thinking of buying it from someone cheap but was wondering if I should put it on my AUTO GTS or my manual GTS I'll be buying later on.

A little impatient are we? Well if you have an auto GTS you could use it, and if you get a manual GTS you could always take it off the auto and put it on the 6 speed. As far as being good for a first mod, that is up to you.

Sorry, I'm in school, what I meant is is it a good performance enhancer? How much HP does it give?

u guy are picking on the new kid aren't you?
crespo you need to know that with most intake (except tpr) will bog on ur car like crazy..and it doesn't give you like 15hp..1 or 2 maybe..but the TPR prove otherwise to be a lot more gain..check on it..

Thanks, I'll be getting an AEM version, but I heard that water may get into your motor with one, how do I prevent this?

AEM will bog, just so you know..to prevent this, make sure you cover the inside of the wheel well good so you don't have water splat from the tire..get a heat shield if you wish, that seem to help..and if you still worry, get a bypass (this will make you loose hp) and cut the intake in the middle somewhere and place the bypass between the tube you just cutted..or you can just get the Injen Short Ram..

Thanks, how does the TRD version you mentioned earlier not bog and the AEM version does?

ok...i've bit my lip long enough.

first of all the AEM xai gives 5-7whp on a 6-speed gts. numbers with 17-12whp are dynos taken from uncorrected dynos or cars that already have an exhaust. import tuner did a dyno of this just recently.

TPR is the only intake that claims to not bog because of it's masf fins that simulate the airflow of the stock airbox. no bogging...no CELs

it is very difficult to hydrolock your car with a CAI...especially with a celica. why? because the filter is a good foot and a half above the ground..plus the fender plastics and front bumper give it more than ample protection. you would have to literally be an idiot and dunk your car in a lake to hydrolock.
