I have a Gt Auto and was reading up on some forum that when it shifts gears our rpm needle drops way down and i was wondering what i could get to make it not do it as much or to shift faster?

The only thing that i could think of for an auto is a High Stall Torque Converter! Dont even know if any company makes one for our cars though, good luck in figuring this out!

Does a better torque converter only help when you are brake-torquing (allowing you to bring your rpms higher when brake-torquing) or does it also improve acceleration in everyday driving?

From what i heard, one of the things it does, is keeps your idle rpms higher, so when you floor it, your already in your higher rpms!!

slvceli if I were you, to get the full gains of the sc i would have the trans rebuilt and have different gear ratios installed with a new tq converter. cause just w. a bigger stall the gears are stiil gonna be shitty. you want a ratio thats gonna get ya off the line quicker since the s/c doesnt make power at high rpms and take adavantage of whats down low thumbsup

C-One makes gears for our Celicas, for the tranny. They have two different sets of ratios. Pricey tho...
