I'm hesitant

hey there, i've been a member for like a year or so i think and posted maybe 5 times...

anyway, I went to change my sparkplugs the other day and when i went to figure out how to remove the plastic from over the head of the engine. I am wondering how to do this(i know I sound stupid). Every other car I've owned has been like 95 or older and they didnt use plastic like this back then. There are two bolts that look like valve cover bolts, do i take them out? and how about the couple of plastic clips...? do they just get twisted 90 degrees or something?

i know cars pretty well, but I am afraid to just go pulling shit(I always break the few plastic parts on my other car)

so if anyone could say what to take off and/or what to twist I'd greatly appreciate it, i think i can handle the rest after that lol

much thanks in advance

lol^^

yeah i took off my engine cover once too. I unbolted the metal ones but accidentally broke off the plastic ones. Couldn't see how they came off so i just kinda pull and they snapped. oh well.

nah they just seem to snap off. I was able to take one off by lifting it a bit with a flat screw driver over the hump at the back. But have only done that once. They cost about a buck at toyota so I just grab a half dozen now & then.

the small plastic clips i think you are talking about are quite easy to take out. get something with a point at the end ( like a pen ) and just push the center of the clip. it should pop out quite easy. the metal bolts are really simple to take out too, just use a socket wrench to get deep in there.
