Hi guys,
I have a 2003 celica gt but I'm looking for some more speed. I'm looking at two cars: a 1999 eclipse gsx or a 1996 300zx twin turbo. Which one do you guys think I should get. Thanks guys. thumbsup

I'm baised towards the 300zx. The only Z I don't like is the one currently in production. The twin turbo is icing on the cake.

If you are looking at older cars, money is obviously an issue. If money is an issue, you're stupid for even considering getting rid of an 03. And for what... a car thats 10x more likely to break down, and comes with no warranty?

Actually, it's the only two cars that I'm interested in because I like how they look and how they can be modified.

I would say get the GSX cause they can be made to go super fast for real cheap, handle very well thanks to AWD, and look damn good. I have a thing for Mitsubishi so yeah, just read me SIG. lol

get an srt4 or a wrx if you want speed, 300zx are known for being more unreliable then a ford deal. eclipse gsx same thing but its gonna be way more to upkeep. for the same money uyor gt is worth maybe 1000 more you can get srt4 which could DEFINATELY take gsx and idk anything about 300zx except everyone i know has em says theire piles

^^^I do believe there is more aftermarket support for DSMers than a srt4, but then again I dont really follow srt4s, You can have anything done to a DSM your pcket book will allow. Not sure that srt4 can say that quite yet.

my choice would be the GSX it's AWD and you can get 400hp I know a guy who has an eagle talon(same engine and all) that is like 400hp.

actually you can. from the factory with a warranty. if you do get the srt-4 (don't know why not even one of your choices), but get the stage 3 upgrade for the car and it will be putting out around 400 hp. OF THE TWO THAT YOU MENTIONED I would get the 300, but that's because I'm a nissan guy and not really bothered by the reliability because once you get the VG going it'll be a beast.

I say go with an SRT-4 with all the mopar goodies...plus mopar is hangin out more and more with the sport compact scene...they're only going to have more out...and FACTORY parts are always a plus...but if you're going to decide on those two...

GSX...i had one...all wheel drive is nice...but well BE CAREFUL because if you get a manual trans...you are a very likely candidate for crankwalk...and you DON'T want to get that...for more info PM me. But if you get a 1st gen motor you can get that for cheap, build it, slap a 20g turbo on it with a refrigerator sized intercooler and make 400hp...plus that body style is really sexy in my opinion. good luck!

yeah but ive never heard good things for reliability coming from either of those cars if that at all matters to you. anything turbo awd you gotta treat right, they wear a lot faster and have traditionally weak trannys for the power you can slam to all 4 wheels. tires go faster, trannys need to be flushed way more often, differential needs work to keep up and needs synthetic oil and premium gas. i dont want to try to change your mind im just letting you know what i know. i know all this cause i was going to get a wrx but this deal was better for me

The reason I won't get a srt4 is because I hate the styling of the car. IMO the two cars that I mentioned look way better but that's just me.(Celica looks better than all three of them grin) For the past two months I've been researching on the gsx and I was for sure going to get it but a week ago I saw a 300zx and now I'm not too sure which one I want. They're in the same price range and they both look bad ass but I just don't know.
