Eibach Sportlines installed... Weird noise... help?!

what's crackin e-celica!

So i just got my EIBACH SPORTLINE springs installed (BIG difference compared to stock, it looks HOT!) , and I keep hearing this noise every now and then. It's hard to explain, but i can tell you for sure that it's NOT squeaky or a scraping noise, it's more like a little "thump", i don't feel anything... and i know it's not my tires hitting the wheel wells or me hitting a dip and keep in mind, i've never been in a lowered car before so i didn't really know what to expect. anyways .. IS THIS NORMAL!!??? It's only been 2 days, so I'm HOPING the springs just need to settle?... One last question and I think I read this a while ago..i'm gonna wait about 2 weeks for my springs to settle before I get my alignment done, am I supposed to ask if I need a camber kit ?

well, my car is making noise too... does it seem like its coming from the trunk and like there are loose screws..? i got the same springs also and my car was dropped about three years ago and the noise is still there... give more details about the noise and i will try to determine if its the same as mines...

my sportlines dont make any noise...

maybe they forgot to trip your bump stops... IDK how that would cause noise though...

there were these rubber things fitted to my TEIN S-TECHS that were like rubber attachments on the second from the bottom coil to dampen the sound. the guys that installed it said they rarely have seen this, and that customers before have experienced sounds before on springs that didnt have these rubber wrappings. the sound came from the spring compressing (e.g. when going over a bump) and the spring coils bang together. does that sound like the problem youre haveing?

thanks for the info! so far, i think that vejita_13's comment relates to mine more. I think the noise is the "spring compressing".. it's just like a small thump, the only way i can explain it is if you imagine driving over a speedbump really fast.. and you hear this "phhhhhhthunk" nosie..haha. I am going to have it checked out anyways.. AND dont forget to give me some input about the camber!!!!! thanks again, oh and virgil, it's MARCO, i'll put some pics asap. I have one on my camera right now, but i want to post my Intake and a couple angles of the lowered celi smile payce. thumbsup

It's your bumpstops. They're rubber/foam stoppers that are supposed to prevent the strut from compressing 100% because if they do, you'll hear a thump type of noise.

UPDATE!!!

So to everyone who said it was the bumpstops.. you were RIGHT!
I took it in to get it re-installed, and the bump stops were not cut!
I have learned my lesson and will always have a professional do this stuff! My buddy did it for free, and I guess you get what you pay for frown So I took it into AUTOHAUS in industry, ca, and they re-did it the right way. No more "THUMP" noise unless i hit a huge dip or something. Thanks guys for all the input. thumbsup thumbsup

Does trimming the rubber bump stops affect the height of the car at all?

Your definatley gonna need a rear camber kit, if when its adjusted to the max your camber is still off by a degree. You difinatley need to invest it some shocks too. Mine are almost shot and I had the sportlines on for about 40k miles. I'm ordering Koni's real soon.
