Can aynone give me some good winter storage tips. This is the first time storing a vehicle. I know about stabil for the gas tank, but is that the best choice, or should I just start it every few days.
I tried searching but found nothing on the subject.
Thanks!

For my motorcycle I was told to change the oil prior to winter rather than wait for spring, that way there is no water or contaminants sitting in the engine. Fill up the gas tank.

Does anyone know if stabil is any good for cars. I know that is what it's for to preserve the fuel so it doesn't get bad or gummed, but it is good for the motor?

Any cons to using it?? I just don't want any problems when I pull it out in spring.

Another question. I've been using mobil 1 full synth since my first oil change. Is it ok to change the oil to regular oil till spring (while it's stored) and then change it again in spring back to mobil 1? It won't be driven with the regular non synth oil.

Stabil is a good product to use. I have stored my celica the last 4 years with it. Follow directions & fill tank with gas then add appropiate amount then drive around to make sure product reaches whole fuel system. As far as the oil change, you should be fine with what you are going to do. Here are some other things to do: crack windows slightly to let interior breathe, put open box of baking soda to absorb any moisture or odors, DON'T engage emergency brake, pump brakes once a month & run A/C, remove battery from vehicle & charge with trickle charger - (Don't put on concrete floor), put car cover on car after washing & waxing, plug exhaust with steel wool. Hope this helps.
