Do they sell these at the dealers too?
And do they really give HP gains?

they give about 8hp at the most but that was on a wrx so it could be anywhere from 1 to 8 hp for one these kits if you get a good one

TRD doesn't make one that I know of.

it's tuned innovation btw and you can get it on the teamcelica website.

Would the dealer be able to install this? Or any car shops?

yeah, I guess, but it's really easy and part of the reason to mod a car is to do it yourself thumbsup

besides they'll just overcharge you for it anyway.

Not to sure about this one guys, i don't think they give that much hosepower if any, Import Tuner just did a project Celica GTS and the ground kit gave no horsepower and only like 1-2 torque and that was with Direct Audio kit which is the same as what tuned innovations uses.

it's not really for power gains, it's for keeping an audio system from sucking the life out of your car.

at least on our cars

lol, the kit wont give any wtq, nor whp. if it does, then its something REAL minor that you wont even feel. how would you expect a 20$ wiring mod give you 8hp when the best intake out there does barely give you that much power?
the main purpose of a grounding kit is for electronics, taking ground off the body. this will help ur audio, illumination, maybe even start and idle. you know when you open two windows at a time you feel the dome light getting weaker? grounding kit will probably fix that and stuffs like that.

i think import tuner did a dyno of a gts with inatke, exhuast and grounding kit (int's on the general discussions somewhwere). the grounding kit didn't make any power and only freed up .8lbs of tq. IT'S DEFINATELY NOT WORTH IT!

2 lbs torque will add up later on with the magnifying effect so if you got it for the kit get it it definately makes the car better which is always good

It does not really matter if it gives out more power. It is something cheap and pretty cool to have. I wasted $30 bucks on useless crap before.

Yeh it def. doesn't give any power gains, but true it is good for cars if you have a audio system and stuff like that in your car.

I'll be getting one soon, to improve idle and the electrical system. I should probably clean my battery poles too...with the car on and my headlights on I pulled both windows up, and there was a visible dimming of my headlights. I definitely could use it.

I'm assuming that the instructions for the Tuned Innovations kit is very similar for a GT, correct? And it also doesn't say anything about removing the stock grounding wire; do you need to do this, and how?

What about the Apexi Super Ground Kit. Does this kit do anything?? I was just looking at it and it doesn't seem to bad. Also how much is this kit going for?

I removed my stock grounding path since it becomes redundant with the groundwire kit. Others have left theirs in place. It's pretty easy to install by yourself.

Guys, you can't seriously think a grounding kit is a performance mod?? eek spineyes It's to keep your audio system sounding pristine, making sure all sockets are grounded, no signal have interference. Do you know what it means to 'get grounded'? When you pump gas, they sometimes have signs to touch to get you grounded before you retouch the handle so that it doesn't cause a spark and ignite the gas. This won't give any horsepower, torque, whatever. The only way it might give a MINISCULE amount would be if it allowed the battery to put out a little more power or something...

so grounding kits help with electrical function in your car? so then would a grounding kit be a good mod to do in conjunction with a larger alternator pully so they loss in power from the alternator would be compensated for by better wiring?

Yes, the primary reason for doing this mod is the improvement of the electrical system - better audio, brighter lights, etc. However, realize that the electricity for this is all produced by the engine via the alternator. A poorly functioning electrical system will have more parasitic loss as more of the engine's power is diverted to the alternator. A healthy electrical system can do the opposite - help the alternator work efficiently, and minimize the amount of work your engine needs to do. I should also mention that turning on my headlights causes a noticeable drop in warm idle (about 100-150 RPMs), so if I can reduce that drop then that's less HP needed to power my headlights. Dynos have shown that it adds a negligible amount of torque to the car (maybe 0.5 ft-lbs). Performance wise it might be comparable to to removing the butterfly valve - there's a slight performance difference, but that's not the main reason people do that mod.
