a 215/45 is about 1/2" taller than stock, which also slows acceleration quite noticibly. wish i would have went either 215/40 or 205/45

Get 17 x 8 wheels and run 235/40/17's and if you have a stiff sus. then go with 245/40/17's. Joe (ecelicamember) has the 245/40 and it looks sick on the celi. My next set of wheels are going to be 8".

I would NOT get 205/45 or 215/45..the sidewall is going to look too big on the car...

I got 215/40 for a lower profile tire so it will look in proportion with it.

this is ssgsky's celica with 17" wheels with 215/45/17 tires...

It looks good...but I think the sidewall is too big..that's why I got 40's instead.

best bet is to just go to a place that specializes in tires and ask them. Or call one of the online retailers (tires.com, tirerack.com) and ask for their opinions. Hell, it's part of their job to recommend tires, so I'm sure you can get good advice.
