hey guys I was driving on highway today it was very very rainy, and when I stop on stop light I put in neutral car turned off rpms dropped to 0. Can that be because my air intake is behind the plastic cover next to the wheel and water got in engine?

and some time it worked on very low rpm like 500 and if you turn heater or ac on it will turn off

and intake is only mod i have on this car.
what can be wrong?
and it didnt do that before when it wasnt rainy, but when i had stock air box the rpms was alwasy like 600, and now its lower.
Please help. frown frown
btw. its 5speed

UHHHHH, HELL NO!! If your filter was soaking, then you prolly got a lot of moisture in your engine!! cry That's why it's safest to use the short air intake. Especially when you live in a rainy state!! You can always run an air vent from the front bumper to the front of your short air intake for cold air. Hope you get things worked out bro. Sounds like the shit sucks right now! thumbsdown

just duct tape the air holes in the splash guard it will help it from sucking in water

It actually does make a difference, especially if you bought a quality intake. I would do something to treat your engine. It might run like shit for a few days until the moisture gets released. Like celicafourotwo said, if you suck up water your car would be dead. Luckily, you didn't, but there more than likely is a lot of moisture in there. GET ER DONE!! thumbsup

that been debated for sometime now..u can put them in if you want, but it don't help any with our car..it'll actually make you loose hp down low (i think, if i remember right)..so to avoid bypass, you need to cover the wheel well hella good, not air tight, but cover enuf so there won't be a lot of water splatting from the tires into the wheel well..plus some people uses heat shield with CAI, positioning the shield somehow to block water splat..

i doubt it bro..cuz the engine is constanty sucking in air, if there are a lot of water on the filter the engine will suck it up too, even at higher suction rate when you accelerates..so if the filter is filled with water chances are it'll find it way inside ur engine..wat intake are you using?? i had CAI on my for awhile, drove in rainy days and it's fine..
