im painting my engine plastics and i was wondering if i should pant the ecu cover even though it says do not remove. i serched the forum and it looks like most of the people that redid there engine plastics didnt paint their ecu. im literally in the middle of painting the plastics and any help would be appreciated. thumbsup

You can take it of and paint it no problem...just don't drive ur car when its off...IT CAN'T GET WET!!! thumbsup

i painted mine...just make sure you put it back on ASAP(after painted, clear coat, and completely dry). and it couldnt hurt to put something over the ECU while your painting, etc. thumbsup thumbsup

Yeah just lay a shirt or something over the ECU so nothing can get inside the housing. thumbsup

I wish i had time to some of the stuff you guys do to your car. My job sucks so I have to take 5 weeks to get a body kit on piece by piece and look like a ricer in the progress. Its all good.

You can paint it no problem 2 bolts and clips hold it together.
