tires packages any good?

My tires is almost completely gone and now I need to buy new all season tires. I was looking into it and wow it will cost me around $500 for all 4 stock wheel tires. Well, for about $200 more I could buy brand new aftermarket wheel + tires at wheelmax.com with free shipping eek My question is are their tires packages any good???? It's freaking snowing like 5' inch here in KC and I need new tires FAST!

Almost ALL tires that comes in packages w/ rims are crap! If all you need from the tires are just daily commute and you don't really care about performance, then they're not a bad choice. But if you do a lot of "sports" driving and expect a lot of performance out of your tires, then buy them separatly. Some places will let you fork out an extra couple of hundred bucks when you buy rim + tire packages and give you a decent set of performance tires. Just ask them if they offer that option.

Know exactly what you mean (I from Canada). I have a set of 18 x 7.5 w/ Falken 451 tire (I paid extra for those tires... they're freakin awsome!!!) and I have my stock 16's w/ stock tires for the winter. Some times when it get really bad I just park it. In your case I think you'll be better off just buying a set of rims+tires and use your stock wheels for the winter. Depending how worn out your stock tires are, I'd say they would still be better on snow than crapy "performance" tires you get from the wheel packages.

^not very good, but not the worst in the world...when a site gives your the wheels & tires package, it's just their way of giving you a rough idea how much it would cost you. of course, they're hoping and you should upgrade the tires regardless...for the winter, use your stockers. when the spring rolls around, put on your new wheels & tires...meanwhile, drive slow, very slow or you can visit your local BJs or price club and get some cheap ass sonw tires... thumbsup

That's why I said "Almost all." There are some good one's out there with decent tires. Just beware of super good deals on tires with brands you never heard of before.
