My friend has that, it's a pretty nice monitor. Only downside is it doesn't have a remote control and you need to install switches in order to bypass the video. If you get that head unit I'll let you know the wiring of em if you want. The thing is in order to watch the video, you need your emergency break up then you have to pump your brakes, then release the emergency brake, then pump your brakes again. BUT we found a way to wire it with the switches so you can just flip em up and down a few times and get the video while you're moving. Other downside is that it's almost COMPLETELY touch screen, which is cool sometimes but sometimes can be a pain. Good luck with whatever you decide.

and MikeTRD if you are interested in headunits I'm selling my Eclipse 8443 headunit in the classifieds section, its in perfect condition and was best audio head unit of the year. Only reason I'm selling both of these things is to purchase the eclipse AVX2494.

PulseTouch- - Easy, Intuitive Control at Your Fingertips.

The IVA-D300's PulseTouch- Display is easier to use than any other touch panel on the market. It uses different vibrations and pressures that simulates pushing a real mechanical button. When tapping, holding, sliding or touching where there are no commands, You get a different feel at you finger tips.

Navigating

The Menu locations and button positions for different components are always in the same place. This smart layout of buttons, together with their tactical response, ensures that users can quickly and easily find controls without even looking at the screen. The IVA-D300 can command a wide range of Touch Control Ready components, for easy control of an entire system.

DVD Menu Direct Touch Control

Unlike traditional screens that simply emulate remote control operation, forcing you to move a cursor to select what you want on the on-screen menu, then push a play button, DVD Menu Direct Touch Control allows you to simply touch the menu option directly to engage it. Since the options on different DVDs are in different places, this is the most intuitive and fastest method for controlling DVDs.

Brightest Touch Panel Monitor

With previous on-screen displays, images were in the form of 512 characters, for text display only. The IVA-D300 uses an additional ROM that contains 2,048 characters, including pictodata. This makes it possible to form high quality images that are nearly as those of the industry-leading IVA-D901.

This unit is SAT Radio Ready, giving you a much greater choice of listening options than ordinary local AM/FM radio. You can select from among a wide range of music genres, news, sports, and talk programs with digital quality, coast to coast.

About Sat Radio Ready:

You can choose between Sirius Satellite Radio or XM Satellite Radio. SAT Radio Ready units require optional receiver box, antenna, adaptor cables, and subscription for service. To find out more about subscribing or available channels visit http://www.sirius.com or http://www.xmradio.com

the pulse thing is cool for the first week then it's annoying! My friend was all about it but he shut it off after a week. I t's a nice feature and some people like it but after a while it's kinda like, i know where I'm touching stop making that sound and pulsing know what I mean.

The iPersonalize thing is really cool. and the DVD direct touch control is hot.

yeah it's pretty good, I mean it's basically similar to any top-end in car DVD player. Only downside to the thing is the pain in the ass to make it go on when driving and the fact that EVERYTHING is touch screen controlled. I prefer being able to have it both ways, which is why I went with the clarion.

you can play it, but you can't adjust anything, like if you wana change tracks or a station, it all has to be done through the touch screen, which is my main problem with the unit.

i just got an email from crutchfield about a couple of questions i had for the headunits, so Celicadragon, yes, it plays fm radio, here is a link of the difference between the IVA-D300 and the IVA-D901.

I think i will go with the IVA-D300 because it has a huge difference in price but very little difference in features comparing with the IVA-D901.

Here you go!

don't get the alpine, go with kenwood or pioneer. after time the alpines give you trouble when putting in and taking out discs, they jam up on thier own. Not all do this, but your taking a chance when you buy alpine.

just get a decent monitor with only an am/fm tuner for like $400 - $500 and a PS2 for $150 and put those in and you'll have a cd/dvd/ps2/radio for like $800 (pre-install).

anywhere you wanna mount it...
under a seat, in the dash (would be difficult), in the trunk area, under the dash... be creative. theres a lot of ppl who have done similar things. but the slim ps2 is smaller and you can od more with it. just keep in mind you wanna try to keep some room for it breathe a little.

i just had an idea.. i dunno if it would work though.

if you have the stock center dash piece it could work; as long as you dont mind cutting it some (the cuts wont be seen anyway). what you could do is remove you dash and cut a whole just the right size/shape to allow the lid to open and you to put cd's in at the bottom of the upper storge compartment (right below the clock). it would be out of site, have breathing room, and be easily accesible. Just have to make that cut and mount it to the sides of the same area and there ya go! I may have to do that one myself.
