Do you have a link to where you read it? Anyhoo, hope so, it would be great for Toyota's geriatric image.

btw this is a sample article, basically this is wut its all about.
http://www.autothing.com/funthings/SpyShots/funthings-spyshot2005ToyotaSupra.htm

i read the article on magazine called CAR, its a british one or a euro one.
wut basically the magazine was saying that the car wheelbase was from the 2005 lexus gs, its gonna be 330bhp, v6, and toyota is trying to make the car as light as they can with aluminum and carbon fiber. as of now, they tested the car and the engineers at toyota werent too happy with it. the design of the car is still not finalized, and the car is suppose to debut to an auto show autumn 2005. the car will be ready for production at 2006. believe it or not, they had a spy picture of it being test driven on a track, but unfortunately the car is covered with leather (its like these bumper covers) to hide its identity

I don't know why, but I just don't see it happening. Those pics on the site were all concept drawings. The fact they tagged 2006 doesn't mean anything. It could mean the 2006 concept of the supra. I hope to hell it's true though.

I fully believe Toyota is currently planning to produce an 06 Supra. However, I know how badly Toyota has screwed up EVERYTHING since the last Supra went out of production. I'm not holding my breath.

Plus, a target price would be nice to know. If it's 330 HP and $45k, who cares?

there was no talk about the price in the article. the concept kinda looked like the red concept on that site i posted above, not the black ones. the headlights resembled kinda like the celicas.

Agreed. I hope it doesn't come out looking like that!

Closer to the pic of the older blue one below would be cool. (If it came something like that stock, I mean.)

Since the Supra departed the market about 10 years ago, Toyota has been without a high-performance sports car. That's about to change. At the auto show held in Geneva earlier this year, Toyota unveiled the Volta concept car. The Volta was created by famed Italian auto designer Giugiaro and it could serve as the Supra's replacement as early as 2007. The concept car features a carbon-fiber body and chassis, making it extremely light--under 2900 pounds. The sports car also uses a 6-cylinder version of Toyota's Hybrid Synergy Drive that makes more than 400 hp. And engineers were able to make the floor flat, so there's room for three seats. With its light weight and impressive power, the Volta should be able to give Porsche and Ferrari a run for their money. With the hybrid drivetrain, the Volta should have fuel economy numbers to rival an average 4-cylinder sedan and get about 400 miles on a tank of fuel--a rarity in this class.

^^And...no. Wrong. Sports Hybrid is not the Supra, which is not the F-1 based supercar.

toyota will be making a new sports car
but there is no word on when or what it will be, so everything you hear are rumors that are false.

It's not gonna be a TT thumbsdown, but they wanna aim for $30K thumbsup

Toyota wisely will avoid expensive and complex twin-turbo engines for the new Supra, which should allow for asking prices in the $30,000 range.

I get the feeling that you're right. Similar to the NSX's case. Acura in the States, Honda everywhere else.

supra is suppose to compete with the 350z they say in the article.
so it should be around its price range also, or maybe a little more since the supra is a little faster. no turbo, no hybrid, nothing like that.
