wash the whole car any time of day, (use good car wash soap like MOTHERS) and then dry the whole car, then WAX THE CAR and you wont have any swirls and water spots you should use meguires wax Liquid

I wash my car either in the morning or the evening...midday heat always messes me up and its HOT! i take my time so I usually soap one area (the hood and front bumper for example)...rinse it...then dry that...then move on down one side of the car repeating the process...once I'm done I use my Meguiars Spray on wax. Finally, finish up the tires and use some Black Magic on em. cool

here are my steps

1. ask gf to do it
2. see if she finishes

jk i rinse, wash using some name brand soap and wool washing mit, rinse, dry with micro fiber towel. make sure you get all the cracks and door sil areas. also make sure you dont do it in the sun, shade is important.

wax lasts about 6+months so you do not need to *wax* it everytime.

I use Turtle Wax soap and it is wonderful...has wax already in the stuff and is very suddy.

This is how I was my celica...
I use spray nine first on the wheels/tires/fender wells to get them clean...
Then I will spray the whole car down and hand wash it using a very, very soft, clean wash mitt with the Turtle Wax. I go over the whole car with it...then rinse the whole car off.
I then use The Absorber drying towel and dry *every possible thing* Dry everything, doors jams, whatever so there isn't any water left.

Then if you haven't waxed the car I suggest you do so...

if you have...after every wash you do, use *spray wax* or *showroom shine* to coat it with. It protects it, makes it real smooth, makes it shiny, and gets rid of those swirl marks. grin

Yeah, you don't need to wax every time, i usually go wax it every other or so (once a month) here's my steps:

Use Armoral Wheel Cleaner for the tires, spray then wait a min and wash.
Spray the car down all the way around.
Take a cotton sponge and sud a section down w/ meguiars soap and then rinse off good.
Once the car is all good and washed dry it down good
Then wax it with meguiars liquid wax.

Yeah, it's always best to do it either in the shade or in the evening. heat and sun mess up the wax job good.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong or my water is crap, but I have water spots on my windows and they dont seem to be removing with whatever I try. I read it needs white vinegar to remove them but that didnt work and Ive tried 3 glass cleaners as well as wash it really well since then. Anybody know what works? I wash with a good turtle wax car wash and i dry it with my chamois. Hate these water spots!

what was the point of bringing this thread back...

as for the windows, use an ammoniated cleaner along with type 000 steel wool and a nice towel or whatever made for windows

Exact same way I wash, down to the Turtle Wax soap. thumbsupI like to use shamois. I still hand wax mine, which is a pain in the ass, but looks hot, especially with black cars. I just got the Mr Clean Autodry Carwash, so i'll try that next. Still can't beat a hand dry, though. wink

BTW, there is no "correct" way, just a better one. rofl
