interesting...the site says specifically...
"We only award FULL Sponsorships! Never a partial sponsorship that makes you pay for products at a reduced price...

What does a FULL Sponsorship mean? If you receive a sponsorship from us you will never ever pay for any products, shipping or any other costs associated with your sponsorship. We provide 100% sponsorships only...nothing less. We DON'T issue discount sponsorships. We believe that a true sponsorship is one that actually benefits you and not makes you have to pay for discounted products."

wow so many haters...dont hate me hate that game..no..dont hate the game..hate your self...if you go in thinking.."ya man..im gonna get sponsored be AEM and NX" right off the bat your gonna be disappointed. the last thing i did was put the intake in bc im waiting on my AF bonus!! then exhaust and the works. yea and its not a scam..if it was i got a contract in writing to back me up. with my decal sponsorship, i can get up to $625 in there graphics AND i can make my own custom graphics. and its free...shipping, costs..etc. you do pay 89 bucks for something but is that such a bad trade-off if you get sponsored by Dunlop, or wheelsNext? i dont think so! you cant even get a decent amp for 89 bucks!!! i got this website from surfing superstreet.com and i dont think they'd put out bullshit ads just to get your attention. and also with my sponsorship with house of boom!, i can get a $1000 dollar audio system with the works..for $less than 500..yea i doubt thats a scam..bc if it was they wouldn't let me send the shit back if i had a problem with it...and i can go to HOT IMPORT NIGHTS FOR FREE AND BE IN THE FREAKIN' CAR SHOW!!! if that doesnt get your attention then...your a frog...go hop away...i'd say give it a chance and see what you get..alot of you got sweet as rides and could get alot..im just starting out bc i just bought the car 4 months ago..im IN THE AIR FORCE CUT ME SOME SLACK!! thumbsup im working on it...trust me ill let ya know if i have any problems with them!! thumbsup

Have you actually gotten anything yet? You speak so highly of a company that 'sponsors' your stock car and asks you for $89- which you're not even sure what for. Please prove me wrong.

The $89 fee covers your account set-up for your sponsor pack, agreement and parts delivery. This is a one-time charge only. thats staight off the website under how it works tab. proven. i just got my pack today so i havent gotten anything but were talking decals so it'll be a while bc im trying to avoid the ricer look with the stickers..i only put on stickers that i have so you see my dilemma! spineyes just to set the record straight, i JUST BOUGHT THIS CAR 4 MONTHS AGO! IM 19! IN THE AIR FORCE! MY MODS=MY MONEY BEING SPENT! i get paid but not enough for a new mod every paycheck. everybody i know is in the same boat. if they have a sweet car it took them a good while bc they understand what has priority for money spending! insurance or new exhuast..questions like that...im only freakin' 19 and i feel like a penny pincher!!! just thought i'd throw that out..give me a break..i had a sunfire...geez...now do you understand why i love the celi??? tongue anyways..ya dude offutt sucks, its about to snow in a couple of weeks or so and aircraft maint!

well from experience im not gonna hate because its really good you got sponsored, but just be carefull sponsorship no matter what shouldnt cost a thing, i use to work at a shop and had many connections with vendors and they do give stuff out for free and dont ask for a fee, and they dont ask for you to pay half.

also i too joined one of these fee based sponsorship things, all your doing is paying someone to give you a discount at jobber price which is the lowest price a store can sell product for a company, for ex. lets say dc makes a header retail for 345 but sells wholesale at 275 ,jobber would be 300, so the price the shop can sell it is 300 to 375 or higher so the shop can fight for your business but if the shop sells for less then 300, dc can stop sellin wholsale to that shop,
so all this company is doing is sellin at the lowest price possible, when i was sponsored by a similiar company as the one you are i wanted a kit they tried sellin me this kit for 400 told me retail was 600 but i saw the same kit for 399 somewhere else
so justbecareful and research prices of what you buy from them
but congrats on the sponsorship

thanks for the advice nothin but respect for ya..i gotta learn somehow! 89 dollars is a small price to pay to me. if it was like 200 dollars or you have to renew every so often then i would be like hell no! i research everything that has to do with my car. thats why i took a whole year to find the car i wanted! spineyes all the legal stuff i read over and it passed my test. i know theres other ones out there asking the same thing but, this is what i chose and you have to start somewhere! i dont want to wait until im old or something to seriously tune my ride. this car is what keeps me sane in omaha so i'll treat her good! plus if it doesnt work out, i can still be in HIN!! sweeeeeeeeeeeeet...

sorry to break it to you bro but these kind of offers are NOT true sponsorships, as mentioned above all they do i sell items at lowest cost(which you can do/ find yourself if you shop around) its not a scam per say but you are not getting any deals here. TRUE sponsorships(ie kits, system)
that companies give will NEVER ASK you for any fees. What they seek is what is called ROI(return of investment) its more like if they help you what can you do for them.

so sorry again but this is nothing to get to happy about
these so called "sponsorship" will accept any fool who apply(DUH!!!! they get 90 bux for every fool that signs up)tsk tsk

good luck though

btw search for motor x and sport compact pro "sponsorships" youll find its the same kind of scam

getting sponsored is not that easy

it might be stupid it might not, a lot of you guys are just posting opinions not facts, which is cool cus' all types of critism is cool. so tell me then how do you go about getting sponsored by a big company? just because you can buy all their products wont get you sponsored. at least once i get the ball rollin' i can say i'm sponsored by something! how many of your rides were in big car shows like HIN or NOPI and got approcached for a sponsor? im thinking slim unless you have a unique ride and im not talking just lambo doors. this is just to see if this really works or not. like said before, most people spend 89 bucks on just getting drunk on the weekend! and if you consider your car just a 4 banger and just an get to work and back car, then maybe you should get a neon or something bc IMO you dont deserve a celica. you can drop a kit on a neon for cheaper. keep hatin! thumbsup

re: racer x motorsports
"Dont do it. Racer X is just a scam to make money. They gave out a lot of these so called sponsorships to a lot of 350z owners too.

You end up paying 80 bucks basicly for a club discount not a sponsorship. Its 53% of retail but who pays retail for parts. I never had to pay full retail just look around most places charge the same as racer x's discount.

Well heres an example of what happend to a 350Z owner in reguards to racer X sponsorship that was givin to him.

"Racer X, a company in DE, claims to sponsor people, and are targeting Z owners. This is because the Z is a new car and everyone wants to hook it up. They contact you if you submit an application, their website is www.racerxmotorsports.com. [racerxmotorsports.com.] Well, when you submit your application, it turns out that you are automatically charged $79.00 for an "account activation fee". They claim that you will only be charged if you are accepted, the trick is, they accept everyone! They will then call you and offer you a T-Shirt, Magazine, Stickers, and other little goodies, and tell you they will mail your contract out. Here are the guidelines to their "SPONSORSHIP"

Most the Z members will prolly be offered the "$10,000 / 52% Partial Sponsorship" under this you get:

-Up to 52% off all parts
-Free shipping of all parts
-$5,000/per year if car is damaged to reinburst your aftermarket (for 2 years, for total of $10,000)
-After 1 year of being on this sponsorship, you can apply for a FULL sponsorship where they pay for all parts and goods
-Any product you buy which is under $80 is free to you
-"Rack Labor Rate" on installation, which is $45/hour, cheaper if you go to their shop, if you go to another shot affliated with them, you get Rack Labor Rate

It turns out they really do most these things, but the part they scam you at is...

1) They require you to enter 4 shows a year, which YOU must pay for. What sponsorship company makes you pay to advertise? None. Entering a show as a car owner costs usually $100 and up. This mean you have to pay $400 or so a year to keep your contract active.
2) The 52%, is "UP TO 52%" off. Most parts are NOT 52% off! Generally they are about 30% off. Even that 30% off is off a raised price. For example, I asked for the INJEN CAI, on this site we have seen dealers offer it to us at $225 shipped. Racer X quoted me a price of $247. Another good example is Eibach Lowering Springs, I've seen dealers sell them for $200 shipped, Racer X sells them for $227.
3) When you tie 1 and 2 together, even though the prices arn't that bad, the amount you will save with them is going to be much less than what you end up spending on the shows.

When I called to get a refund on my contract, Eric, the man I spoke to tried everything to keep me interested. He gave me the following excuses.. (all listed below are exact words used by Eric)
1) We are here to help you out, you got a great car, we can offer you great products cheap
2) The prices I quoted you have an additional 30% off once I see you have a signed contract. (If this is the case, why would he give me 2 prices? Doesn't make sense. Plus, Once he has a signed contract in hand, I'm screwed!)
3) Don't you want to have the first really hooked up 350Z?
4) If you stay with us for 1 year, you can apply for a FULLY paid sponsorship!
5) Come on man, we're trying to help you out here! It's not easy finding a sponsorship!
6) The $79.00 cannot be refunded, but we can take 79.00 off your next order. (I was told it could be refundable by another worker named Scott, so they obviously don't know their company policy)
7) Eric kept telling me he works in the PARTS Department, and that the $79.00 was charged by the MARKETING Department, when I asked for the marketing department number, he kept repeating himself, saying "I'm in parts." Makes me believe there is no marketing department. Finally I was told to email "Wholesale@racerxmotorsports.com"

There you have it guys. If you feel as if you want to go through this, you can. Technically this is not a real scam, but it is extremely misleading. I hope this helped a few of you out there, because I went through a hassel of over 2 hours to figure all this bullshi* out. Good luck fellow Z members"

If you ask this question, then what you should really be asking is "What is sponsorship?" Put briefly, sponsorship is an agreement between two parties whereas one company provides financial or in-kind (product) support to another individual or company in exchange for their marketing and promotional efforts. The key to this relationship, from the perspective of the sponsoring company, is the Return On Investment (ROI) a company will receive for its sponsorship support. In our industry, this is typically realized in the form of event attendance and media exposure (print, television and online). "

you need to act as the companies representative and do all the necessary rquirements they have.you need to be very knowledgable abou a companies products and be able to sell them to others. they will practically "own you" until you contract is done
and its not as easy as you think, its hard work

and may i add most companies dont look for stockish cars or even new to the game. you need at least be known in the industry b4 you can be considered.
in other words buy your own *ish and let companies know you are serious about a sponsorship and ready to take on the responsibilty thumbsup

FYI i have been turned down by so many companies i have a folder of rejection letters and look at my car grin so i said fuck it iam buying my own shit thumbsup

most of the guys sponsored usually are the ones that have already spent an arm and a leg on there cars have entered and won variouse car shows or are seen a lot at the car shows. then they come to you and put the offer out and talk from there. just remember if your at a car show be nice friendly answer questions you never know the person your talking to might just be from greddy or xsengineering or some great shop.

i read it before too, thanks man. but thats what i chose so im sticking with it! like i said before, 89 is not a big deal. if i get ripped off then lesson learned! ive been ripped off by ebay the first time i used it for 94 and i said i'd never use them again, but now all i do is buy from them! i dont mind the risk bc i've had higher ones before. if you cant take a chance then whats the point of tuning? your taking a chance of blowing your engine putting on that turbo right? thats all im sayin happywink

Dude Ive been sponsored by the same two companies for about a month now. None of the sponsors return your emails so I simply declined it by not putting their decals on and not ordering things. Plus...i dont intend to put little vinyls and decals to "add horsepower". House of boom is still expensive if you take 50% off. I can get the same stuff for cheaper at www.mycarjams.com [mycarjams.com] or www.ebay.com [ebay.com] . Whatever man, if you look at carsponsorships website they say "Oh you have until THIS date blah blah blah to apply!! What do you know? That next day they say a different date. thumbsdown
Im not hating...but carsponsorships scams you by making you pay 89 dollars. They say they accept 90% of people. Hmm A real sponsorship doesnt make YOU pay anything for THEIR advertisment. Its just a kinda trick they use to try to get you to apply and give them you visa rofl Tell us how it goes though...good luck tongue

Wanting your car to look good doesn't make you a ricer...

It's trying to make your car fast BY making it look good tongue
(Park-bench wings, flashing lights in places they don't belong, logo for shit you don't have... Things like that tongue)

Making your car look nice ([matching] painted body kits, for example) without slamming things under the hood is not rice... It's conservative. thumbsup

i didnt mean that if you choose appearance over power being rice...having enough power to back up the looks is what i mean. yeah being rice is like having the super apc wing on the back with all the stickers on the side of things you dont have and the eurolights..SOME cars look aight but for the most part..icky..im a Carbon Fiber guy. but since the gts has a good amount of hp, looks could be first. thats how i think reputation is built on the street, having the power and the looks!

I like Carbon Fiber too...i know decal kits sells sheets of Carbon Fiber. Except you gotta put a whole side graphic on your car before you can do anything else they say. they make you prove it too.
