10whp freed from i/e? sounds about right. though that dyno looks very strange. it looks too smooth...
kind of weird that the celica after all this type is stil being featured on their power pages section. hopefully they continue with this and add this such as header, flywheel, pulley, etc.

yeah, that sounds about right...exhaust don't give you shit like everybody thinks... well alone the trd exhaust freed up 5.5 whp. whenever you start adding mods they don't reflect what they gain if they were just to be added alone. a mod will react diffrently if there is already another on in. you generally don't add the #'s up from stock...

Exhausts don't do much. Not enough benefit in it for the expensive price tags they come with

They could of picked better mods. Most people dont buy a damn grounding kit. Yet they didnt really get into detail on how great this car handles on turns. They just concentrated on power. I dont think this was a good cover of the car. Unless I missed something, no??

i think they left out any engine management because they were on a budget. why spend tons of time and money on a car that is being discontinued?
oh well. TPR says they are ready for 2ZZ cams in the future. lets hope they can deliver...

Good info, but lousy article layout. Looks like something that comes out of popular science. Good find though!! Finally, it takes some real pros to tell you that exhaust doesn't do jack shit, cept make you sound different. Intake is where its at.

I have a TRD and Veilside custom exhaust. Maybe this is just me, but i notice that with the TRD exhaust more power is down low from 2k through 4.5k rpm. with the veilside (less than 10 lbs) there is more power from 3.5k to 6k rpm. and the rear is easier to swing. so i think that exhaust shift power more than add power for me.

Great information! Very interesting stuff...bottom line = low single digit % increase in HP for $1,500? That's almost an argument for a new body kit painted and installed, instead of intake/exhaust mods, given a limited budget, eh...
