but the thing wont come out - am i suppose to twist it or give it some sort of special lovin to get it out?!

you do not need to remove your bumper when extracting the headlamp enclosure... just the obvious attachment bolts

Check the install guides for "painting headlights". This will give you a nice pictorial of how to remeave the enclosures from your vehicle

if you remove the single corner screw from the bumper and have someone pull it aside - the entire bumper does not need to be removed
