Frontier Toyota thumbsup ... a few blocks up from Six Flags Magic Mountain
I had an AWESOME experience at this Toyota Service Center thumbsup

http://www.FrontierToyota.com

I go in for an oil change and to have them look at a CEL (P0420) that has been off/on since February of this year. The service adviser (Dane Jensen) looks over the car and a quick pop to the hood, then asks a few questions regarding the CEL. He then looks it up in his system, does the paperwork and tells me to go wait in their waiting area to enjoy the standard TV, Coffee/Donuts. No complaints from me grin Plus I have a GBA (SuperMario FTW!) to pass the time.

About 45 minutes later, the tech comes out and tells me that everything is going fine - they just finished the oil change, filling the tires, inspecting the fluids and topping them off - everything seems fine & they are working on the CEL now.

Another hour goes by and the tech calls me up to the office again - he says, "good news and bad news". He starts with the bad news... The car's O2/Oxygen sensor (89465-20670) & Catalytic Converter/Exhaust Assembly (17410-22070) need to be replaced. The good news he says, it's all covered under factory warranty - all parts and all labor.

At this point, I was waiting for "the catch."

I asked a few questions regarding this - in-which he answered each one professionally. He then went on to mention - "There is more good news - We have all the parts in-stock, and can do this today. It will probably be done this evening, in about 5 hours.

So far I'm giving them thumbsup thumbsup

Things get better. I instead mentioned that I had prior obligations to take care of that afternoon and would like to schedule for the following Tuesday morning instead. To which he took down an appointment and asked, "The repairs will be done in the afternoon of that day. Will you be waiting for your car, do you need a shuttle or will you have someone pick you up?". I told him that I would wait.

He then offered to provide a shuttle-van to the local mall where I could catch a movie as I waited for the all-day repairs to be done to the car grin

Just when you think it couldn't get any better.

He walks me over to the cashier and she rings me up. $23 for oil change (plus taxes, making it about $27). She then takes a $14.95 coupon and applies that to my bill. Now I'm out of there for $17 (and change) for the Express Lube, fluid top-off and several other minor details. And i will be going back on Tuesday to get the emissions system replaced (under the emissions warranty)

You want better? All the time I was waiting for my car's repairs to be done - many vehicle owners who were also getting major service done were asked if they wanted their cars washed before they picked them up eek

This was October 2004 - its one month later and not a single problem (or CEL) since!

Although Frontier Toyota is 25 miles north of me, I've tried the 4 other Toyota Service centers that are all within a 10 mile radius and those either lost my car (Northridge Toyota). Scraped rims (Keyes Toyota). Left oil dropping over the detailed engine bay (Keyes Toyota). Tore up my trunk looking for the wheel lock which I had left out for them in my center cup holder (Keyes Toyota). Refused to do service on the vehicle because (the TRD Shocks & Springs that another Toyota Dealership installed) was too low for them - even with my 18" rims (Northridge Toyota). Said they had parts (Standard Spark Plugs and Standard Gas Cap) in stock that they actually did not have and wasted my afternoon on THREE different occasions (North Hollywood Toyota).
