im gonna be taking this auto repair class at my community college in a few weeks and im wondering is what they teach you there enough to give you basic knowledge so you can do simple work on your car like installing a new exhaust, pully and CAI? I dont want to have to pay for simple things like that when i can do it myself.

They will not teach you exactly how to install these certain parts. But it will give you the mechanical knowledge to where you should be able to figure it out yourself. Catch my drift? Or you could probably ask the instructor to tell you how, maybe use your car as a project car. thumbsup

Pullies are not hard at all. People overestimate their knowledge when it comes to cars. They think they are so complex. In some ways they are, but when it comes to bolt ons...its just nuts and bolts.
