Celica Forums General Discussion General HELP: 2004 or 2005?

Hi,

I'm planning to buy a new Celica in the near future, and I'm looking for some advice. Does anyone have any thoughts on 2004 vs. 2005 models? The year-end, rock-bottom prices on 2004s is appealing, but I was wondering what the advantages might be for getting a 2005.

Any ideas would be appreciated...I'm having enough trouble deciding on a color, let alone which year!

P.S. Every '05 I've seen have been loaded GT ATs, which is the opposite of what I'm looking at, which is GTS MT...is this a weird coincidence or is Toyota keeping its limited production more focused on one kind of Celica this last year?

There's really no difference between '04 and '05, except the CD player is supposed to come standard on the '05 with multi-disc capacity; I think it also might not have a cassette player. Anyway, very little difference. If you can still get a new '04 GTS manual, I'd say go for it!

I think you should get a new 2004...save money.

That's tempting...especially since there is a '04 GTS manual Celica sitting that has been sitting at a local dealership for a while. Here's what's holding me back...and you all can tell me if this is even a big thing...I was wondering if, for nostalgic or novelty reasons, I should get a '05, since that's the last year the Celicas will be distributed here in the U.S. Any thoughts?

got an 04 and loving it. no problems except for this odd clickl everyone once in a while that soduns like its coming fomr under the rear passenger window. if you have the $$ find an 05gts becasue tis hte alst of them and will be that much newer. Goodluck bro.
