stop writing in CAPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you trying to adjust the shock sensor or the glass sensor?? I'm pretty sure you can adjust the shock sensor by doing some funky stuff like turning the key to acc. pushing in the brake...it's some weird combination like that on some cars that allows you to adjust the sensitivity. I may be totally wrong but i have seen it like that b4.

the stock alarm is meant for forced entry not dings. It goes off if you open doors wrong, to my knowledge there is no shock sensor...atleast not on my 2000gts with the rs300 system..

if you are talking about the "alarm" that comes with the celi with the keyless entry then its not touch sensitive. It will only go off if somone opens the door without turning the "alarm" off.

I've tried to find an online manual for the VIP RS3200 system, but haven't had any luck. I have one out in my car, but I'm at work right now...

EDIT: Found one! http://rav4world.com/brochure/alarms/rs3200/rs3200.html

According to some guy who posted in the alt.autos.toyota group:

"The glassbreak sensor is usually a microphone that it mounted in the luggage area. The interior sensors aren't powerful enough to reach the back of big vehicles (this post was regarding a 4Runner), so this is a backup sensor. Tapping front drivers window is probably out of range. The tap really needs to be quite hard - I don't advise testing this - it gives me the shakes every time I do it. Remember it is tuned to detect BREAKING glass, so this is the only real test."

From the manual:
GLASS BREAKAGE SENSOR: The RS3200 utilizes a microphone (usually mounted in the STATUS MONITOR) to sense the noise from tapping on window glass, or glass breaking, and TRIGGER an alarm. It is fine tuned to "listen" for this type of noise and ignore other sounds.

WARN AWAY ALARM:
When the GLASS BREAKAGE SENSOR'S microphone picks up tapping or breaking of window glass, it TRIGGERS a WARN AWAY ALARM; the headlights and tail and marker lights flash, and the horn sounds for 20 seconds, but the starter is not disabled. If there is another detection of glass tapping or breaking, or if a door is opened or unlocked without a key, the regular ALARM is TRIGGERED.

Now if only there where some way to adjust the sensitivity, since no one seems to be able to get it to detect deliberate tapping on the glass...

...and according to page 14, there should be, but they don't describe how to do it.

"When the RS3200 was installed in your vehicle, care was taken to adjust the sensivity level of the GLASS BREAKAGE SENSOR. You may observe how it works following the procedure listed below.

1. Arm the system
2. Wait until the STATUS MONITOR'S LED starts flashing.
3. With the tip of a key, tap the center of the driver's door window. Tap the glass with light to moderate force.

WARNING: Do not hit the glass with excessive force, especially in cold weather, or you may crack or break it.

A WARN AWAY ALARM should be TRIGGERED. If the ALARM is not TRIGGERED, make sure you performed the procedure correctly and try again. If you find that the system did not perform as expected, contact your Toyota dealer for more information."

Hey, whaddayaknow... you look hard enough for something, it's amazing what you can find...

This is from a Tundra, so it may be a little different on the Celica.

"TURN TO THE RIGHT FOR MORE SENSITIVITY"

http://www.customtacos.com/tech/index.php?page=index_v2&id=12&c=6 is informative too; it appears that the alarm system is included even on systems that supposedly just have keyless entry, the alarm is just disabled.

Toyota installs the same alarm system in many (all?) their cars. The Celica uses the VIP RS3200 alarm system, which according to the manual DOES have a glass breakage sensor that should go off if the glass is tapped hard enough, and according to the manual has adjustable sensitivity. There is no reason to expect that the process for adjusting the sensitivity would be any different on the Celica than for a Tundra or 4Runner, although the control box might be located in a slightly different location.

Hy friends i will bring upp the topic
I have bought soon a celica 2001 and i have some questions about the alarm
What are the arming mods for celica?
Because after i arm the car in about few seconds the alarm starts off like someone breeched into the car but with no reason
This is bad because is noisey for the neighbours or when i am in a public area i have to lock the car only by key and this is not good
Thank you
