Tanabe has a line of universal mufflers. I know for sure they have the Hyper spec, but i'm only 95% sure that they have the Racing spec in universal as well. I would just get 2 of those mufflers, then get them custom Y-piped. thumbsup

hmmm..i dont see much of a point to get dual exhaust on a 4 cylinder... i think you should just take the money and buy a badass exhaust system like veilside's titanium one.

yeah a dual exhaust setup on a 4banger would be be kinda puke also i have heard its not good performance wise becuz you wont get enough back pressure or something like that? but whatever you do dont go cheap thumbsup

well here is what you can do
get the small tubing, there is a mathematical formula for tubing size, given the engine size, and max rpm, i dont remember it though. but get the small tubing creating the needed backpressure, then have the ends get larger at the end for the look

dual exhaust...it's not going to do much because it's not really made for 4 bangers...
I don't know about adding two full mufflers though to the end like you said...two tanabes that are not just tips...idk dude but you can go for it..

I like duals...I just don't really like them on smaller zip around cars with 140 or 180 hp.

Just go to www.veilside.com [veilside.com] and it tells a little bit about it and the price, which is $690 mostly everywhere.

TSRM has higher gains than the VS. but the VS only weighs 8 lbs!! titanium is more of a gimic unless your trying to get your car as light as posible.

make sure you utlize the rubber hangers or else you run the increase risk of the exhaust sounding crappy.

veilside sounds real nice, http://www.turbomagazine.com/tech/0209tur_exhaust/index.html , that will give you all the sounds, the veilside kit is in there, and the silencer is only on when you want it to be on, if your driving and don't want to hear that loud noise the whole time, but you can just choose not to put it on.

I guess a dual-exhaust is a l/r exhaust.
Here some examples of good dutch craftsmanship
They make exhaust like you want them (looks and sound)

Awesome setups. I had mine ran exactly the same way but went with 3 different setups. Due to the fact that when they bend the mandrel on the pipping to the exhaust the pipe hits the suspension when lowered causing this metal sound when you hit dips. If you guys plan on doing it like the picture above make sure you have a set clearance between your suspension arms so the pipping doesn't run into it when lowered.

My second setup I ran straight pipping all the way to the back ran straight down the center then y splitted going outwards.

3rd setup I ran the exhaust stock system since it is easily mountable and unbolts quickly. I had the stock system cut where it bend out to the right and used again another y split straight down the middle with exhaust tips. (I use this setup to pass smog and rid it from noise just incase a cop were to pull me over and tell me my car is to loud). Just for rainy days and for smog reasons.

Other then that some people do dual exhaust just to fill in their rear bumpers if their bumpers come with dual exhaust. Some just do it because it looks awesome such as the new 350z, Honda Accord V6, RX8, Infiniti, and couple other cars. Then you've got the people who just do it for no reason and put dummy ones. Anyway those exhaust setups look awesome!!!

When I have saved some money I will have a dual-exhaust too. I've found another good address in Holland who make very nice exhaust with Laser Exhausts.
I want flat/oval (not DTM-style) tailpipes. Something like the last pic but not bent. And of course I want a lot of (low) noise grin
