F'ing hatchback!
Does anyone have a problem with their hatchback closing on you when you open it up? Mine always seem to close because of the weight of the hatchback...

It keeps on hitting my head after I'm getting outta the trunk.

Sometimes it closes completely and hits my back when I'm reaching for something.

It's so annoying!

how old is it? you probably just need to replace the trunk shocks, or if you have a big TRD,WW spoiler and didnt upgrade for beefier shocks that will also do it

I have a '01 Celica GT with stock spoiler.
Where do you think I can find shocks? Are they expensive?

The dealer rips you off so badly...
Do you think I can find one at auto part stores?

Thanks for the link.
Those are so expensive... I'd rather tune up my car than have that replaced...

you can buy replacement ones from your local Autozone or Pepboys for roughly $19 to $22 each - you just need to measure your current ones and purchase upon those measurements

I had the same problem with my Lexus engine Hood. It didn't have a bar to prop it up, so it would slam me in the head every time I checked fluids. angry thumbsdown

hahahah I knew someone would say that.
Actually I travel a lot and I have a lot of things to take out during my trips. Everytime I reach for something and come out, the hatchback hits me on the head! Pisses me off everytime! F's up my day

Is the deck lid still attached to the hatch? Doesn't seem like much, but i know when i took mine off (just two little rope-like strings hold it onto the hatch) it didn't fall on my head anymore! try that! or remove it all together for very small weight reduction too. Worked for me...

Yeah I've tried that long ago and it didn't fall on me for about 2 weeks and it started doing it again!
