I just bought an AEM Short Ram.
Is there any sound differences between the stock and the SR?
How's the sound?
This is my first mot to the car. Any cautions I should take before I change my intake?
Thanks!

Are you sure it's really an AEM (did it come in a box). Unless they just released one in the last few months, AEM never made a short ram for the Celica. How much did you pay for it?

I paid $165 on a website.
It was really hard to find... But I know the part number 22-564. I hope it's not fake...
Some sites were selling Camry SR's for celica... I didn't want to get that... eheh

Here's one of the websites:
https://www.importhorizon.net/productcart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=113&idproduct=254

This is where I ordered mine:

Is this real or not?
Does anyone have AEM SR installed in their celi?

AEM doesn't list a short ram for the Celica on their site:

Yeah I've already seen that... hm...
I guess there's only one way to find out. I'll have to install it and post.
Hope it's not some no name brand pipe with AEM sticker on it... hehe

Or you could call AEM before you install it, since if it's not a real AEM, you got ripped off big time. thumbsdown No name CAIs like the ones on eBay sell for under $50 shipped, and there's no way you should've paid more than that for only a short ram.

Yes there is definately no AEM short ram for the celica. They were supposed to preoduce one that's why they list them on some websites but they never actually did.

I'll have to call them Monday...
But my intake will probably ship Monday. Hope I call them first and check it out.

How do you know this? Do you have any proof?
I'm thankful for the info but I just want to make sure

i think the websites just confused the term short ram with cold air. the picture is not of a short ram (it's way too long). it does, however, have similar bends and length to a cold air.

Well that's just a picture... It's different for for different models...

I still don't know if there is a real AEM SR...
I can't wait till Monday to find out. It's driving me nuts!

Thanks for the info!
I called the place I ordered the Ram and they said that it was a misprint.
I'm thinking of getting a Bomz Racing Short Ram since it's so cheap.
Do you guys think this is ok?

http://www.bomzracing.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=683

I found one on ebay for $50.
I plan on getting a K&N filter later on. I heard that the piping doesn't really matter for short rams...
I hope the sound and quality is pretty good...

Yeah, almost any eBay CAI will be the exact same as that Bomz one (AEM replica), but for 1/3 the price or less. Definitely get one off of eBay.

AEM did make a short ram because I ordered one from a website and a week later a guy from the company called me and said they stopped production on the AEM SRI due to the fact that it was not making any horse power for the celica gt at all...he recommended a CAI but I just went with the Injen SRI...
