Hey guys,

Just got my Celica GT and i wan't to get as much power out of it that i can, without useing Nitrous or forced induction, for now that is.

Just dont wana spend that much money yet.

Any sugestions on the best tuneing I can do to the engine anything that will free up the most HP/TQ.

Thanks, Mark

Well, you should've gotten a GTS, you cant expect a lot of HP with the GT without F/I, but if you do want to try all that you can, well then:

(no specific order)
Clutch
Flywheel
Intake
Exahust
Headers
LSD
Pulleys
Port/Polish
Engine Mounts (better launches)
S/S (quicker shifts)
New Valves and Valve springs from MWR.com (rev high more, eliminate valve float)
New Fuel Rail with Return Line (just in case)
New Injectors
New Fuel and oil Pump
PFC if you can tune it right, or Greddy E-manage, (get more fuel in the system, retune the air/fuel ratio)
Higher COmpression Pistons with with a bore kit, just under a 2.0 (like 1.93 or something)
I cant think of anything else!!

Yeah,I should have gotten the GTS but i was in a hurry to get a celica and this one was the only one around.

So if i was to turbo my car what kind of work should i expect to do to the engine to keep it from breaking down, also the tranny, or is there anything I could do.

also i don't have a dyno to tune on is there any other way i can tune my car without it.

I was looking at the stafford kit the other day I was wondering is this a do it yourself job if your somewhat mechanically inclined, also i have a few friends that are mechanics and said they would help.

Turbos require moderate amount of maintainance. If you're clueless, you can find somebody in your area that has some knowledge on the subject and learn from them. If you turbo, you're going to want to bring your compression down. Apexi controllers and GReddy Emanage could do that. You're in a good spot because GT's are better to turbo than GTS because the expected gains are higher.

please explain how the "Apexi controllers and GReddy Emanage"..."bring your compression down".

^^^ Thank you, i was about to ask the same thing!

And for you answer, if you want to try to minimize mainatence, i suggest staying at a low psi, and dont rev high a lot and dont race alot, keep it to a dialy driver.

But, how many people acutally do that, so you might want to get stronger rods, lower compression pistons and new valves and valve springs, for the minimum!!
