I have a 2001 GT .. and i'm about to buy a trd replica bumper off sum1... they say the bumper has a pretty good fiting. Now.. heres the problem.. how hard would it be to take my old bumper off and put the new one on?? I know ppl would say bring it to a professional.. but i wanna learn. And it also comes wth a pair of fog lights without wires.. how would i intalll those and what kind of wires do i need??

lol. you dont need to take it to a professional to remove your bumper. Theres an install guide in the installs section if you really need help. Just take off 2 screws on each side, and then 4 screws up top, and thats about it. oh and dont forget to move the side marker light thing also.

Yap, do what Toiletpaper posted. Put the foam if it fits it won't hurt. It should fit hopefully you're replica is not going to need modification. The real TRD front is urethane if you're getting a replica TRD front it's more liable to crack and break but all depends on your driving habits. Lots of people here drive with FG bumpers just have to be a bit more careful thumbsup thumbsup thumbsup

i have, infact i have twice this past week and well have to again after the bumper is painted. i had just put it on for a test fit. i can prolly have my bumper off in less then 10 min and thats using hand tools. th ticky parts are there are 1 bolt in each fender that you have to pull the plastic sheild out of the way to get too. also even after all the top bolts are off and the botttom one and the fender bolts the bumper is helf on by clips attached to the fender just pull straight to get them off, it may take alittle force. as for installing the replica that will all depend on how good the fitmit is. to get mine on right i beleive i will have to adjust the clips on the fenders for a start since thats my biggest problem. i also think some of my holes don match up so redrilling my have to be done. i had to remove foglights and the foam padding to get it on and it looks like i will have to remove the plastic gaurd in the wheel well since the is no place to tuck it into on this bumper. how this info helps and if you have any other questions feel free to pm me

Depends who makes it. As with any replica kit, it depends on the quality of craftsmanship.

The reason that they recommend replica bumpers be installed by professionals is because fitment will rarely be right on, so adjustments to the fiberglass may have to be made in order to make it fit or look good on the car.

Working with fiberglass isn't something you should do if you don't have the proper tools or know-how.

It depends on how well the previous owner wanted it to fit on his car. It could fit easily, but would it look good? Would there be any irregular gaps, etc.

it depends on that bumper, you might have to drill 2 new holes on each side and relocate the fogs...

If there are no wires on the foglights, take out your stock foglight bulbs after you take off your stock bumper. Then put the bulbs into the new foglights on the new bumper. Then cut the wires on your stock wiring & the new foglight bulbs.

Then buy male & female wire connectors, crimp them on each & hook it up after you reattach the new bumper. Then you should be able to control your new fogs from the old controller.

well guyz .. i installed the front bumper on today.. and it fitted almost perfect.. lookz really nice.. now i have a couple of question now that i got it on... .

1. my side plastic inside the wheel well doesnt cover all of the bumper ... because the trd bumper is a bit wider at the bottom.. what can i do to cover it up?

2. And i noticed that in between the hood and the top of the bumper, there isnt that black strip of rubber that keeps water out.. could water seep through that gap, and if i wanted to but that rubber in.. where could I get it?

thx for all ur help guyz =]
