MAF sensor. It is the sensor on your intake. Mine did it, and many others did it when they got dirty. Just take that sensor off and give it a good cleaning, and you will be ready to go.

Clean your IAC (Idle Air Control) valve. It's a little square inlet inside your throttle body, facing towards the front. It gets clogged by oil and gas vapors from the PCV system, and gets stuck every now and then, causing an irratic idle.

Yeah thats what i just went through with my GTS. I cleaned the MAF and IAC and still had the problem. The dealer wanted $1100 to replace the IAC but i bought the part myself for $190 and installed it.

The actual IAC housing is bolted to the bottom of the throttle body. The inlet to it is inside the throttle body, on the bottom half facing the front, right before the throttle plate. It's a square shaped hole. Just spray a ton of throttle body cleaner into it and let it sit for a few min, then start up the car and let it idle for a while to flush out all the gunk.
