Ok I need some help and education here guys. Hope you can help.

Ok let say I got a 2zz engine that has 200k under its belt. I want to rebuild it, so when someone rebuilds a engine that means they are basically buying a new engine right? Just that you buy parts for it. So lets say I replace everything possible with new parts. So can I call my engine new? Is it still 200k or 0 k? Thx. Hope its not too confusing to read.

no... you cannot call your engine new if you rebuild it...

when you rebuild an engine, you replace broken or worn parts with new ones...

even if you replaced everything in your block you would have to say "engine has 200 original miles and however many miles on the rebuild."

Wow then basically a car last pretty dam long wouldnt it? Whenever something is worn out or break then you just replace it with something even better.

Maybe the cost of replacement may exceed the value or a new car. confused

You can do it yourself, IF you know what you are doing and it wouldn't cost as much as you think. Typical rebuilt 4 cyl. engine with warranty costs (approximately) anywhere from 2K to 5K depending on which engine, core provided, and what part are used.

Yup. Although, when rebuilding an engine, you're not limited to replacing only worn parts. You can replace everything and still call it rebuilt. Another advantage is that you'd replace everything with better performing, stronger, and longer lasting parts.
