I just bought the TRD short shift for my 02 GTS. I know I can replace the shift rod to my 02 housing. But my problem is I can't get the C-clip off. I don't want to put too much force to break it and I don't have a new one. I used cutter the screwdriver. I already check the hardware store and they don't have this c-clip.

Did anyone have any sugguestion how to take it off w/o breaking it. I know someone have done that before.

or did anyone have an extra one from B&M and TWM.

I installed my TWM. That c-clip was the biggest fucking bitch to get off.

Don't worry it won't break, just bend...that thing is strong as hell.

Anyways are you following the instructions on the TWM website for 2002? Really good instructions...I have 2002 as well.

Anyways I was worried about bending it...but just use an exacto knife to CAREFULLY pry it loose a little...I had to hold the knife in and then wedge in a screwdriver, then I would lightly tap on the screwdriver with a hammer to pry to loose. I eventually used two screwdrivers one on the top and one on the bottom. Just don't rush it, this took me maybe half an hour alone.

if you have TRD doesn't the housing come with a c-clip or anything like that?

If it isn't too late...i say get TWM...it will be way more noticeable...but hey nothing wrong with TRD.

good luck ...hope this helps...msg me if you got more questions

Thanks for the reply. I will try it one more time.

I didn't get TWM b/c it's too short for my taste. it's look like no shift boot at all. The shift boot is all the way down. I know TWM is the best out there.

Hey, thanks for ur comment. U're right they don't break. But my friend break two of these things. So make me worry to use some force. Anyways, after I read what you say. I can take it off in 5 mins. the other one I take 2 mins.

The TRD SS is really have good feel. Almost same as my DC SS on my integra but not as short. I really like it and recommend to those who have 02 and up GTS. it's really improve the wide shift gate thing.
