As you guys might or might not know I just got an IS300 about a month ago (PICTURES ARE IN MY PROFILE IF INTERESTED). I'm 19 going on 20 In January so I'm still at that age where I would definitely like to mod my car out, but I'm not sure if I want to modify it or not! What would you guys do if anything. I'd like to put some nice rims on it, but not sure about an exhuast, air intake, engine/performance mods like that. What do you guys think?

I've probably got 5k miles behind the wheel of our IS300, so I'm pretty familiar with the car...

I'd say modding it is a waste of your time. The suspension and engine are perfect for what the car is. It's a sport sedan, it's meant to be comfortable and fun to drive... not ultra-sporty. Plus, you have the auto. The IS300 auto is still fast (5-speed auto + low RPM power = fast)... but again, its not built to be ultra-sporty.

The rims are the only thing I'd consider. Nothing bling-bling, but maybe a nice sophisticated look would do it. thumbsup

depends on what do you want to do? do you want to just cruise and make it a nice show car spend the money on rims and a kit leave the suspension and engine alone. if you want a auto x car upgrade brakes and tires and suspension. if you want staright drag racing power upgrade the engine and suspension with good tires. smile

dont try to make a show car into a drag racer youll just be wasting your money and youll never push it becuase youll be afraid of crashing it.

God, I want an IS300 so bad. The mod potential is there. I wouldn't recommend it though. It's a nice car as it is. Rmember, the engine is nearly identical to the N/A supra engine. So, if you have the time and money...go for it. I WANT A IS300!!!! Damn, can anyone recommend me somewhere where they go for a good price???
