I accidently hit the rev limiter in my 00gts 6-speed while in second gear. I was there for maybe a half a second. Is this bad? or is it alright since its only at like 8500 and its the first time ive done it in 53k miles.

dont worry about it, thats the whole point of a "REV LIMITER" is so you wont blow the engine and over rev the engine. But in some cases when you mis-shift into a lower gear while going high speeds then you can say "OOOPS" and then slap yourself for being a noob slap

first, the fuel cut off if as 8100rpm, at least thats where mine stops. and no, its not bad, the ecu basically cuts the fuel so it wont damage ur engine. but no its not bad, its there to protect ur engine.

Fuel cutoffs on all manual GTS' except 02 are 8350. 02 is 7800. Autos can go up to about 8000 in SportShift mode.

^^^ That's funny. Bouncing off the rev limiter isn't good, but better than messing things up. Like others have said.
I have seen videos of people bouncing off the limiter during a launch for timeslips and it hurts to see it.
