just wondering how much it would cost to repaint the entire car. i've been noticing some places on my car where the clear coat is coming off and i might need to get the whole thing repainted in the future so i just needed to know about how much this would cost? thanks.

it depends on what quality you want and effects. ive seem some paint jobs cost over 8k...and some as low as 1000...even 700.,..but thats too shitty quality lol

If you want it to look as nice as the factory paint, $2k at minimum.

Wow...one coat usually doesn't cut it I believe. I know my body kit got sprayed like 2-3 times before clear coat. Once will look dull and see-through almost. Correct me if I'm wrong here.

just the outside would run anywhere from 1500 to 1900 depending on the condition of the body, ie. dents and dings that need to be fixed. that price is with a stock color, additional specialty colors run about 200-500 more. to do a complete color change would run about 2500-4000 depending on the color and how in depth you want to get into it.

thats very true but just shop around there are a lot of spots in VA that do great paint jobs and they dont cost alot, it mostly depends on how much business that paint shop gets thumbsup

get a maaco job,its less than a grand. If you just want the exterior done its cheap, and since thats all most people want usually its nice and easy. A 2000$ paint job consists of door panels and engine bays and all the interior jambs and stuff. Thats where it gets expensive. If your just looking for a nice exterior repaint I'd Maaco, do a :google: on it

Be careful - I recall MAACO advertising an 'economy paint job' for like $400 for the WHOLE CAR!! WATTA DEALLLLLL!!!! grin

I believe it's guaranteed for like a couple weeks...perfect for that old car on the new market!!

ya know where macco gets its paint? not from distributors like FINISHMASTER or PAINTERS SUPPLY , but from bodyshops that go out of business !!!!! They buy thier old paint! ha! I used to work in a very large bodyshop for 2 years before the dealer and when i painted my 00 mustang w/ body kit with lamboghini orange tri stage paint , the paint and materials alone costed over $1500. So for a House of Kolor or PPG Quality paint job expect that much in just materials. Primer , Clear, Hardener, Base , Pearls. That was including enough to do door jambs , under the hood, in the engine bay , EVERYWHERE. If you are easily pleased, go to macco. If you want a quality job , find a shop that does at least a little bit of custom work, less you just want stock color. But if a shop quotes you less than $1000 to paint the car the next thing the shop owner should hear should be your tires squealing in the parking lot cause your getting the hell out of there. If you have any questions about what it takes let me know, me and one of our prep guys did mine. its in my profile

I got my Car re-painted for 550 at Earl Schieb...with a dent fixed in my front left fender. I know it obviously not the best quality, but i have gotten many compliments on my paint job.

my paint is about a year old now, and only have some minor chips in the front bumper as expected.

I am extremely happy with it, gave my car a nice new look...decide for yourself

Screw Maaco. My paint came out looking like an orange peel. I wrecked my car two months later and was glad in that respect that I got a sh*tty, cheap paint job. If you just want them to tare your car apart, like not removing screws with a screw driver and just yanking them straight off, then by all means have your car molested by those bastards. They know cars like Michael Jackson knows heterosexuality... jack sh*t!

95% of a good paint job has to deal with the prep work.

If you don't prep the car properly, you could use the finest paint in the world and it would still look like shit.
