as i was at the dealership few times. having my gts fixed. i've been talking to this 1 sale personel. he told me that the TC taking over the celica's market, that this year is the last celica's made. he also said a few thousand's will only be made for next year, for the celica to slowly diminish

this makes the celi's even more rare. glad i got the last year.. that means they can't change anything, cause everytime i get a new car, a couple months later there is a newer better model.

yeah, just like many other cars that faded. but when the Celica's come back! it sure's hell worth the wait, as did the 7th generation.

There are still a lot of celica after it's last production. It may take years for it to become rare but all i'm sure is it will never be like the supra. i dunno...maybe supra for speed and celica for looks grin who knows...

There is not much hope for 7th Celica to be like Supra or MR2
(given the same period of time from the day it is discontinued)
Few important things for highly collectible sport cars:
1) Rarity (Production number, sales)
2) Racing Herritage
3) The car should be ahead of its time, concerning power, design, technology, etc..
4) Distinctiveness, one should be unique
Don't get me wrong, I like Celica A LOT!
It always took left my eyes from the road when I see one.
But, to be realistic.
7th Celicas are mass produced.
Hundred of thousands of them are on the streets.
They don't have racing herritage.
They are fantastic car, fun to drive, but not unique or powerful enough.
Many people buy them as daily drivers.
Truth hurts, and I hate that. frown

It sucks that they're gonna stop making celi's. I just ordered my 2005 GTS last night at the dealership so will be trading in my 02 for that. I'm not so sure that the celica will be gone forever though guys. My gf's brother works at a toyota dealership down here in CO, and he told me that Toyota is going to stop for a couple years and let the TC take over. But he also told me that there are plans for an 8th gen. celica with a whole new body style in 2008. So it will be interesting to see if that is true at all. Hope to keep chatting with you guys. Take it easy.

It sucks that they waited for the last year to come out with the tsunami edition.
