Clear Corners and Cops...

Hey... I was just wondering.. I love the look of Clear Corners on a Celi. so i was thinking of doing it to mine, but are the cops really anal about it, or do most of you not have a problem?
Thanks

The cops problems won't be with the clear corner itself, but the bulb inside. Federal Law dictates it has to be amber I believe. wave

not federal law, state law. So it depends on where you are. Here in Texas it can be either amber or white thumbsup

In Jersey you probably have to have amber

most laws state amber or white. do not put red or green or neon blue or any other crazy looking color in there thats just asking for a ticket.

Celicas in europe don't even have em smile in fact, I think there are only Volvos over here that do, forgive me if I am wrong.

i think in louisiana they're supposed to be amber...but most cops down here don't care; they won't pull you over for just your CC's

Clear Corners are perfectly legal. Go look at a car dealership... many new cars have Clear Corners with amber bulbs.

I'm pretty sure in Cali, the color of the light has to be amber. However, I seriously doubt cops pay attention to something that subtle.

did you know our car only comes stock with a white/clear bulb? and that if you were to buy Clear Corners and wanted to stay amber you would have to change the bulb to amber...

its funny that the amber color of our lenses comes from the plastic and not the bulb...

if you need a set of amber bulbs i have two that i dont need/want

Well, there are reasons to have equiptment laws. If some people had red brake lights, and other people had blue or green brake lights, that'd be a safety issue. Same thing with tint... 5% in the front raises a number of safety issues.

That isn't to say many laws aren't trivial. Does someone want to tell me why I can't install HIDs on my Celica when they were a factory option? rolleyes
