Heres the deal, like many of us my serpentine belt is squealing. I took in to the dealer two weeks ago to have them fix it. They new exactly what the squealing was (they even said they see it all the time) and told me that they had to order a new belt and tensioner for me and it would take a week. Ok, so two weeks later the tensioner is in but no belt. They say the belt is on backorder from Japan. They claim that Toyota has a bulletin to use a new belt and it is only made in Japan. They say I'm in line with 600+ units on backorder. I think I'm getting BS!

I would like to know if you guys have any information or similar experience with this problem. Also, I'm thinking I could have them put on the tensioner on and then I put on the AEM pulley, taking there belt out of the problem. What do guys think about that option?

Any help you guys could give would be fantastic and thanks in advance. smile

They are not giving you the run around. I just got mine replaced under warranty. Its a recall, I had to wait a week but I was one of the first in my area to complain about the squeek. After I got mine replaced I got pulleys installed. So if you want just go to pulleys mod and your problem is fixed. Or wait. thumbsup

I didn't think it was a recall, but just a TSB. Correct me if i am worng because i had mine replaced twice and now i am out of warrenty and it is like almost 400 bucks for Toyota to fix it.
