i thought piggybacks don't work well w/ 2zz, and stock ecu would reset itself after a short while..

piggyback usually don't work at all 1zz ecu or 2zz ecu...but apparently this one is working...the matrix forums are all in a buzz about this...and even the nc forum has taken notice.

I def. weary about this since it has been so long since this thing supposedly came out and all the dynos have been smooothed out.

My friend has a Matrix XRS with a Unichip. I can ask him how he likes it if you want.

The matrix ecu is completely diff. than the celica ecu. You can ask him how it is in case it does work on the celi its just something seems fishy about it.

can you explain how it's 1zz or 2zz ecu is diffrent from the celica engines?

because the car is mechanically different
the ecu isn't gonna be the same.

Engine function is only a small part of what the ECU controls. Just because the Matrix and Celi share an engine, it doesn't mean the ECUs are interchangeable.

The celica ecu and the matrix/corolla ecu are different. The celica ecu has 140 horsepower and the matrix/corolla has 130 horsepower. The tuning of ecu is different in both. Just because the matrix ecu doesnt get overrode with the unichip doesnt guarantee the celica one wont. I just havent seen anything more about this unichip and I researched it a lot back a few months. I just dont see the point since their is emanage and no proof has been given for the unichip.

so the emanage (which is a piggy as well) that works with a spyder, corolla, martix, AND celica has seemed to somehow "outsmart" the ecu?
