Does everybody that has aem intake will always going to have cel problems?? is there a way to fix this problem.

I get a cel, once every two weeks and it sucks.

This is how i have my intake connected, the blue cable that has that sensor i took it out because the last time i had a problem with a cel, someone told me that i had to take that sensor off.

I don't know what else to do about this situation, i am tired of this shit.
Can someone tell me any recommendations on what to do so i don't get no more cels??

thanks for the help

Unplug the MAF, unplug the negative bettery terminal, go watch an episode of your favorite TV show, re-attach negative battery cable, plug in MAF, let car idle for a minute.

It should go away, but be sure to do everything in that exact order. smile

Before you rip anything apart. you should get the code Read first. Find whats causing the Cel. Maybe it has nothing to do with the intake.

Also I hope you put a vaccum cap on the nipple that looks like it goes in the engine. ( i don't know the correct term for it) i can't tell by the picture.

If its a lean code its your intake, mafs, or some hose isn't plugged up right. OR, just your intake.
I had to buy a TPR to get rid of my CEL. Becuase TPR's is made for correct MAF readings.
However, you could be getting a CEL for something other than that, like i got one for a leak in my hose running from my charcoal canister to the fuel tank. p004.
well im rambling, just get the code read. for your celicas saftey. obdII code reader 70 bucks, at pep boys one of the best investments i made. You can Read error codes, delete them and reset the ecu without opening your hood.

Around 25% or more intake owners get lean CELs (much more than that get bogging), even after they clean their MAFS and check their setup. It's just the improperly designed intake that causes the problem, not the MAFS. The only intake that doesn't have these problems is TPR, since it follows the stock design and incorporates MAFS tuning fins, which no other intake out there does.

They're BSing you (that's why god created dealerships in the first place rolleyes ). They have to cover cover EVERYTHING, unless the intake damages the engine (hydrolocking is the only way), and they need to absolutely prove that. It's the law. Bolt-on mods like intakes and exhausts will not legally void any warranties, no matter where they're installed. Stuff like ECUs and turbos, though, are pushing it. wink If something happens to your car, and they refuse to repair it under warranty (and the intake wasn't the cause), you can go into arbitration, then possibly court, and sue them for not fixing your car. They won't let it go that far, though, since they know they're the ones being assholes. wink

hes right , unless the dealership can prove that the intake is the direct cause of the problem affecting your car , they cant deny a warranty, but heres the trick , if you have a legitiment claim .. and the dealer denies you warranty , A. take it to another dealer, or B call toyota customer satisfaction and start a claim , the parts and service director will shit his pants if it becomes a customer satisfaction issue , and more than likely toyota will tell them to warranty it.but dont expect to just show up at the dealer only when you have problems and be treated like #1 , take it there for the occasional oil change (costs like $3 more than uncle eds or victory lane, and $7 more than doing it yourself). Get a service history going and then the dealer is also more apt to warranty something for you.

Try this. It's on an '04 GTS, but it may work about the same for a GT. Give it a look-see smile
