Celica Forums General Discussion Exterior Intake Problem Please Help!

I had an injen intake for almost two years, and the CEL went on about two weeks ago. I took it to a shop and they said it was the oxygen sensor. Then i took it to toyota and asked them to fix it. They said no because i had an aftermarket intake. After looking at the actual intake my self i found a hole in the pipe. the hole was possibly from an accident i had. so i bought a new AEM intake and the light still went on. I installed the inake in perfectly but it still went on. What can i do to fix the problem.

When you install you new AEM intake, did you disconnect the cable from the battery? You might want to do it if you have not done it. While you are it, you might want to clean your MAF sensor. And please, oh please...make sure you follow everything right with the instructions.

Where did your Injen wear through? Mine almost wore through in two places (see pics) I was lucky enough to hear the squeaking and rubbing sounds before they had a chance to wear all the way through.

If you were driving around with a hole in your intake then I'm guessing that your MAF is hell'O dirty and needs to be cleaned, you should definitely change your engine oil as well.
