Save up for HIDs unless you like blue tinted bulbs that reduce your vision (physically impossible for them to improve it) and blow out every now and then. thumbsdown

HIDs aren't standard on the 350Z. I'd get either Philips VisionPlus if you want slightly brighter (clear bulb), or Philips Blue Vision if you want the light to be whiter (light blue tint, but the light isn't blue). Besides that, HIDs are the only way to get a white/blue look outside the car and maintain/improve visibility . 4100 and 4300 are the brightest and whitest, then 5000 (light blue). You don't want to go over 6000 (moderate blue) or cops might start to hassle you, and the brightness starts to suffer big time (over 6000 uses blue tint to change the color; 6000 and under is clear).

Obviously, HIDs are the best way to go.

If you want to save some cash and get some of that look, there are a couple good options. I had MTECs and they were extremely bright and clear. When they burned out, I bought Nokya Artic Purple bulbs. They have that nice, crisp intense white look to them. I love the color, but they are no "brighter" than stock.

I'm gonna satick with halogens for now, just wanna upgrade to something alittle brighter, but not extreme. I don't want any problems from the cops. How long will these last compared to my stock halogen bulbs? Also, I'm not familiar with the h1, h2, h3... classifications.

ive got the silverstars and thier awesome , but those piaa spark blue bulbs xmangt1 has are fantastic looking but if you live in a strict area they might be trouble. The only thing that sucks about em is thier japanese import piaa and only come with a 30 day warranty and thier $90 a pair!

If your going to upgrade to a different halogen i reccomend going with either the Phillips Bluevisions or the Sylvania Silverstars. The bluevisions have a slight tint of blue but the light output was much better and the emitted light is not blue. They lasted me about 8 months before they blew out. The silverstars are appear white and have no blue tint on them whatsoever, they seem only slightly brighter than stock. I highly doubt that youll get pulled over for these since they look stock. Just stay away from anything that has a dark blue lense and emits blue light. go to www.powerbulbs.com [powerbulbs.com]

PIAA is a really nice brand that you can buy. They do cost a bit, but they're better than most f the other bulbs out there. HIDS are definitely the best way to go though. They're bright, cheaper in the long run, and will outlast the halogen bulbs.

Zup Bat, I bought mine at www.autobarn.com. [autobarn.com.] Sylvania Silverstar Halogen lights (H7 ST). 5 Dollar mail and rabate end up costing $16.00 bucks. They light up pretty bright. Look into it. thumbsup

go for the real stuff...HIDs! i prefer the 6000K range...its either too blue and no light or lots of light but more yellowish...not like its yellow but when you compare it to 6K it is. Im happy with mines...dont have to deal with blown bulbs abd burnt wirings

PIAA Xtreme White Plus, slight tint of blue, completely legal. Except your fogs, which stay either stock or go for amber/yellow, less reflective than white in heavy fog. thumbsup

H7 are your low beams. 9005 are your high beams. H3 are your fogs.

As long as you don't touch them with your oily fingers, they should last just as long as your halogens.

The next step up is HIDs.

I think you mean 4200. If 12k is purple, I think 42k would be black light? tongue

I'm leaning towrads Piia's since it seems they are one of the best quality bulbs out there according to many people. I've heard mixed reviews on Sylvania's.

hehe, their packaging is cool. I love the lok of the light emitting from these. Much better than my stockers. Unfortunately, I hear they only have 1/2 the lifespan of regular bulbs, and chenging my bulbs out on my Z requires removing my bumper frown.
