Hi i just bought my gts this weekend from a repo yard and was wondering what type of mods i should invest my money in first. keep in mind that i dont have that much cash so i just wanna get the most horsepower for my money. also i was wondering if anybody knew a an exact way to know if a gts has the trd package. mine has all the trd emblems on the body but the rims dont so does anybody any way to make sure?

Get an eBay CAI. $50 for a very noticeable gain in hp and great sound. smile You can tell if your car has a TRD package just by looking at it. wink If it has a body kit and big spoiler, it has it. If not, it doesn't. People like to put TRD and other name brand stickers and emblems on their car, so they're not a reliable source of info about your car (check under the hood to make sure you have the right engine happywink ). I don't think the Action Package Celica even came with any TRD stickers or emblems anyway.

Well the wing was stolen well actually the only part that was stolen was the middle part the supports are still there and it's easy to tell that it came with it and it is a pretty good sized wing. i am pretty it sure it has the trd package now but how much horsepower does it actually have under the hood? trd package and all. sorry for all the obvious questions but i just bought the car and dont know much about celicas

TRD package is just the action package. You get the front bumper, rear bumper, sideskirts, and wing. TRD stickers for added performance. rofl

the trd package is just the body kit. It includes the front, side, rear kit and the wing. It doesnt give you any more hp than the regular gts. Listen to blue, get a a cai from ebay for 50 bucks. I really cant think of anything else that would be cost saving. You can also clean your mafs and try some sea foam to clean out all that gunk buildup in your engine. Hope this helps

just one more thing, before you make a purchase on ebay or anything, check with the people here b/c there are lot of garbage people try to sell that doesnt do crap.

Accually there are two packages for celicas but the TRD package is a lot rarer than the "agressive / action" package. The TRD package is a lot like the A-spec RSX package.

The TRD package that i got came with

19'' rims
235/35 nitto z rated tires
TRD exhaust
TRD struts in trunk
TRD sways
TRD 1.2'' drop springs

Then my car also had the Aggressive body kit as well

Good way to check if you have TRD springs / sways...get under the car and look to see if your springs say TRD on em and all the rest, or have someone do it for you.

When modding i like to ask people what's their overall goal. Not what they have money for right now. Because then you're gonna buy stuff and then end up spending more money changing and buying new things. If you have a goal in mind you can work towards that goal. If another part is more expensive but better for what you want, i would save up and get the better part, dont get the other part just because you can afford it now. As far as goals, are you into looks, speed, handling, thats gonna determine how you mod it. Then under each category you have to determine how far you want to go and be realistic. Speed for example, do you want to go all out and turbo it, do you want to go all motor, do you want just a couple bolt-ons for a little more pickup. Determining those things is gonna determine what mods you buy and what order.

first i think you should get a carbon fiber replacement piece for your spoiler. either that or a regular one. at worst get a regular spoiler for it. now for the important aspect...performance. if you want to go best for buck...ebay intake and custom exhaust with universal muffler. if you want best performance...go with injen, aem, or tpr intake and trd or tpr exhaust. im sure theres better performance mods etc...but...those seem to be the most common.

I am buying the middle thing for the wing so it'll be just like stock as far as performance goes i wanna have at least maybe 250 horsepower, not a lot, just enough to get by. also first i wanna get the parts that are missing (the entire middle console is gone as well as the back wipper). as soon as that's done i plan on putting in a cold air intake from aem. can you guys believe this car only cost me 7 grand and is in perfect mechanical condition and only has 57,000 miles on it. eek

If you want 250 hp, you need a turbo. You're not gonna get that n/a. So no point in buying an intake or exhaust. Start saving now.

supercharger is a little safer i assume, but turbo will give you better gains.
250 hp is not little power for a little engine like the celicas. you can get it upto 200whp natural aspirated with some nice headers, intake, exhaust and ecu, but 250? i would also say start saving up for a little turbo. search for more turbos, you got a few choices only. stafford or c2. c2 is from europe, but their turbos must be good, and i heard some good stuff bout sf also. but you gotta ask someone with more knowledge about turbos.
i got my 02 gts for 10K$ with 14,000 miles on it salvage.
and yea, get the s2000 antenna on the car if its not there.

if you bought ur celi from a junkyard im pretty sure you won't be able to afford a turbo anytime soon.

also, use the damn search feature, its there for a reason.

before posting go do some research on your damn car, instead of relying on other people. all these things can be answered easily after a little reading.

and get a blade for that damned wing before you even THINK about a turbo. puke

before you ask, FYI a blade is that horizontal piece that goes in the middle of the two inserts that are on the top of ur trunk there buddy.

rofl people here are harsh.

The factory TRD kit is only the body pieces. It would seem that your car came with it... but it could have also been an aftermarket TRD kit. Doesn't really matter.

Some dealers sell pre-modded Celi's with TRD parts (exhaust, springs, ect). Post a picture of your exhaust and we'll tell you if it's stock. There is no question that your suspension is stock.

First mods should be TRD exhaust and AEM cold air intake. After that, you could get headers from any of the companies who make them for the Celica. Don't expect huge gains... maybe 10 HP from all three combined.

If you're serious about a turbo, search around the site. There are MANY threads, and MANY aspects you need to consider, from price to reliability. Too much to cover here. Read up and if you have a specific question, post it up.

BTW, I'm assuming your car is stick, right?

how do i do that. Yea when i chnaged my intake, i saw it was pretty nasty. I opened up the inside and yea its was black and i ran my fingers in there and there was oily build up. Considering its the throttle, i dont think it would be wise to clean it with some cleaner. I dont think carborator cleaner will work here. Whats this sea foam stuff? do i just spray it inside the throttle? It wont hurt the engine if i gets inside the intake manifold?

he has a gts the blits/trial supercharger fits under the hood just fine.

your gonna be around 210-230whp with the blower and its like nitrious either on or off, do some research into the kit if you dont know what i'm talking about.

stay the hell away from xs- people are waiting for kits for more than 8 mo. already, also a team mate of ours had a horrible experience with them resulting in the need for a new turbo which he had to pay for.

dont buy a cai if your going turbo, dont buy a header if your going turbo, dont buy an exhaust if your going turbo.

your better off having a 3" exhaust fabricated once the turbo is on for optimum power, best part is its usually super cheap (under 200 bucks)

read up on turbo kits also, you have a lot to learn.

Hey DUY just cause i bought it from a repo place doesnt mean i cant afford a turbo the reason why i dont have any money right now is because i paid the car cash as for the missing parts i've already ordered them, so as soon as i put them in it's as good as new. you dont know me so dont assume angry i just wanted to know about the turbo because if i saved up money i could have it in like 4-5 months. that's if it's worth all the money. does anybody know what the most horsepower i can get without turbo or a supercharger? i am thinking if i am gonna spend 5k on something for my car and it will increase like 70 horses it might not be worth it. at least that's what it seems cause it says that it has 250 hp @ 8200 RPMs. rice

Well you also have to remember the Celica is lighter than a lot of other cars. So 250 hp is pretty good. Also pratice driving first, that'll help you be "faster". 5Gs for a turbo kit + the money for install + dyno tuning, just remember.

nice find. good luck on modding ur car. i wud say ur upgrades should go in the order of wat you want. im guessing you want power. turbo. personally i dont think celicas are made to be fast so most of my money is invested into looks and suspension.
but its ur car and good luck and happy modding. post on these forums whenever you need help. i sure as hell do and i love this site

Can someone tell me the part number of Celica GT-S TRD Sports M ECU? How can you tell the difference of the TRD Sports M ECU and just a regular GT-S ECU. If someone has it can you post a picture. I am trying to figure out mine if that is an M-Sport ECU.
