guys, I just bought a '91 celica. Though I'm not familiar with automatic transmission. I got a few questions about some of the buttons I couldn't figure out. 1) what does O/D button do, when on or off? 2) what does the ECT button do when in power mode and in normal mode? 3) what does the shift lock override button do?
Thanks a lot, later...

...for the answer to #1=o/d means overdrive, basically for freeway driving. if off, then the tranny will only change gears up to i think 3, 4=overdrive...just have it on all the time... for #3- shift lock overide is when you lost your keys and the only way to move the car forward into gear w/o the key is the shift lock override button...i think thats it...

#1) the O/D (over drive) is for freeways, its keeps your rpm lower... if you're goin up hill,, you should turn off O/D so your car can drop gears and go up faster
#2)ECT gives you more power, its almost like down shiftin... you should try it when you're smashin down the street, turn on the ECT and you'll feel the difference
#3)just like wah celiajonz said
