hey peeps, need your help with this dilemma... which would look and perform better with my '00 gts, 18/45 or 17/50? are those sizes too big on a stock height? the reason why i want to plus size is to compensate a bit on the big fender gap without altering the suspension. i've had a bad experience with dropping cars so i want to keep the suspension stock. well any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

ok 17's... would a 50 series do some rubbing already? i just want to maximize the size of the tires without causing some damage.

17s would look best without lowering it. I have 215/45/17 and that is what looks the best for filling up the fender gap. However, my steering wheel shakes somewhat and I was told it was from the 45 size tire (I dont really notice it anymore though). I also have wanli tires which are okay but if you had better tires im not sure if it would even shake. So if you want better looks get 215/45/17, but if you want to make sure there is no steering wheel shake at all get 215/40/17. Either way get hubcentric rings that are for your rims.

umm dont bigger tires give you less shake since they absorb more of the impact... you know it works out like a pad.. running very low profile tires like 30 can cause damage to your wheels and more shake because its more stiff since its a little thin ass tire.. i could be wrong spineyes

yeah a lot of peeps use 45's on their 17's not 50's. i just want to get the biggest one i can use bc i used to have 205/40/17 on my teg and i hate the ride man! it's terrible. not only that... keeps on blowin' too...

i also think the thinner you get, the bumpier your ride's gonna be... IMO
