this is for people who care to know the difference between these two cars. I'm posting this cause a lot of people care, and these cars are perfect competition both by performance and looks. I got a 02 GTS for a month now and is basically my first manual car, but I've driven a manual car before. My good friend owns a RSX-S. SO we let each other test drive the cars. Before I got my Celica, maybe a year ago, I've driven his car several times. I use to like the RSX's interior more, and the rear look better. The RSX-S seating was perfect, everything was great. the steering wheel size and feel was great. The shifting was unbelievably smooth and easy to shift. The car was awesome. Now his car has cold air intake, headers, and he's done something minor to his exhaust system (he said he did some piping on the stock exhaust system, something very minor that gives a bit HP and a different tone of noise). Well, few days ago I got in his RSX-S to test drive it. It felt real weird and never like before when I sat in the car. The car was not low as I thought before and everything felt different. It kinda felt like I sat in my mom's camry comparing it with the celica. There is a big difference in seats. The celica's seat was more of a bucket seat, way lower that gave more of a sporty feeling. i pushed the clutch in and it didnt feel like before. The clutch wasn't as smooth as I thought, there was no hydraulic feel on it. The shifter felt as long as a bus shifter comparing to the celica, and putting them in gears felt awkward. slapping the shifter down gets you on the gear below with no difficulty, doesn't feel precised. it is way easier to shift than the celicas, but the celica's shifter is sportier i suppose. if you dont know what vtec is, you would know by just the sound. a different pitch adds on the noise once vtec hits, very noticable and you really get an extra pull by it. shifting it to second tires chirp and is soo easy to land on vtec when you shift. i was almost going 7800rpm and shift to 2nd and tires chirped and landed on vtec. i didnt even try to shift fast, the car is too easy to shift. so if drive a celica, driving an rsx-s is peace of cake. i didnt need to get my foot used to clutch, it was already too easy while i still manage to idle low when im letting go the clutch sometimes on the celica. overall, driving an rsx-s is seriously a piece of cake when you drive a celica daily. i couldnt compare my car with his performance or speed wise, cause he has all these mods and i got none plus i got the stupid 02 ecu with the low rev limit. i can tell that his car would have eaten mine alive cause that thing pulled like crazy. i got 17" chrome and he got 16" chrome but somehow i think my wheels are still way heavier than his, and i also got lower and wider tires. when i sat in his car, the dashboard was too frickin high comparing to the celica. it looked like it started low and then went up higher while getting closer to the windshield. now when he sat in my car, first thing he do is that he grinded while shifting it to reverse lol. im like step the clutch all the way in. he reversed it, put on first, started rolling straight for 2 seconds and said "damn man, your cars a batmobile". thats a perfect comparison. celica leg room way smaller, space is smaller, dash is lower, steering wheel feels better and smoother. im sure he liked the way his car drives better but i understand that. he drove his car for over a year and it aint that easy to drive a celica. the guy always loved a celica, but never thought of himself in it, and always wanted me to buy one. the only thing that really amazed him about my car is the looks of how aggressive it is and it never gets old and the handling. ill tell u, he has dropped his car 2" i have 17" ZR rated tires. if his cars tires started squealing on a 25mph turn and the car leaned on a side, my car handling at least 35mph with no tire noises nor car jerking on 1 side and my tires arent really new. overall, his vtec with mods kicked in so nicely and loud as hell that you can tell theres a difference. he said theres a pull on my car, but need a few mods to prove the pull . i agree, as of now, his car will eat mine alive on straights, but i will eat him alive on turns. it all depends on taste, rsx is way more roomier and way more luxurious than the celica. the seating and all that is higher and roomier. these cars are meant to hate each other, but we had to admit both together look like the nicest couple. and i think thats my review, and i dont think noone will read this long story. but a lot of ppl cared about rsx vs celica. so here it is, when you search for it. i will keep you guys updated of wut happens to the gts and rsx-s challenge once i start modding. ecu change, intake, exhaust, headers, and better rims are on the way.

did i forget to mention? nomather how easy the shifter was to get, how easy was to land in vtec, i take my celica over it 100% celica is just made to be sportier, more of a challenge, and more controlling. if you land in lift on a celica, im sure you can land on the rev limit on the rsx-s haha. so you shift at 8200rpm on rsx-s, shift to second and hit the rev limit in a second. its just that easy. its just a matter of choice and taste, depending which one you like more. most ppl think that the celicas rear looks little outdated, but it really flows with the front. its really sporty vs. luxury. theres no better way to explain it. celica is seriously WAY more sporty than the rsx. im sure the rsx is more comfortable on longer drives or for sex cause you got a lot of places to move around in

the celica is much better in every way ^^^^ I agree. Plus you HAVE to drop a RSX 2" just to get it down to a normal ride height. They always look like they sit so high, and it makes them stubby. I have seen a few RSX's running around here, like 3 of them, they're not very popular. Way more Celicas. And I've never seen a guy driving an RSX, only chicks.
