Celica Forums General Discussion Exterior Thinking about changing exhaust.

Right now I have a custom piping (crush bent) cat back exhaust with some aftermarket muffler. At first I liked it because I wanted an exhaust, but now I'm just tired of it. This thing is loud as hell, and I'm not sure if I got any gains from it. Seems like I lost a bit of low end though.

Problem is, they cut off my stock exhaust right after the resonator and that is where my custom exhaust starts. What can I do if I want to get a TRD exhaust or something? I mean since they cut off all that piping and replaced it with new piping can I just attach the TRD to the old piping? HELP?

Ummm. I think you might need some extra piping, and not seeing how it was cut I can't really say. It wouldn't be a HUGE problem if you got the TRD...you might just need some more or less(?) piping, haha. Chalk up another reason to go for a real axle-back exhaust from the start

don't know how your had the custom exhaust made but on my car i just got another flange that matched the midpipe and made a custom pipe with a universal muffler. if i want to take it off and go back to stock i can just unbolt it and put on another one.

If anything you'll prob have to get another flange and have that welded to the mid pipe where the orginal was to replace the stock (or another bolt on exhaust) exhaust back on.
